My understanding is that publishing rates for illustration largely hasn’t changed in 100 years. I don’t mean that it kept up with inflation, I mean that after the camera came along the rates did not increase over the next 100 years. And those were the GOOD jobs. Many places paid less.

Two of my paintings won in the June 2025 PleinAir Magazine salon competition! I won best artist under 40 with “Valley from on high” and “the view from balancing rock” got an honourable mention in the Plein Air acrylic and gouache category!

It's incredible to me how bloated Pinterest has become with Ads. About 50% of every search result are a product post. Does anyone have any other recommendations for image searching platforms? Pin has such a great algorithm, but its slowly turning into death...
