This is what resistance looks like. On October 1st, I stood on the steps of our State Capitol to protest the closure of yet another public school. I was peacefully writing with chalk when a Capitol Police officer put his hands on me — trying to silence me, intimidate me, and make me back down.

After a long day of volunteering and campaigning across the district, I wrapped things up at the Roosevelt Kennedy Dinner with the West Virginia Democratic Party.

It’s been a busy — and beautiful — weekend across the district! 💙 Friday, I had the honor of serving twice — first at a food drive in Man, and later that evening helping folks on the streets of Logan. Here's one thing I know for sure: no matter where I go, West Virginians show up for each other.

Last week, armed federal agents rappelled from a helicopter in the middle of the night and raided a Chicago apartment building. They went door to door, detaining U.S. citizens, and separating parents from their children—all under the cover of darkness. This is Trump’s fascist America.

Yesterday, while peacefully protesting for stronger support of public education at our State Capitol, I was shoved backwards, had my phone ripped from my hand, and was threatened with arrest by a West Virginia Capitol Police officer.

There’s no denying it’s been a hard few weeks. We are experiencing political violence, free speech crackdowns, and a massive famine in Gaza. But I’ve got faith. Faith in God, faith in our volunteer team, and faith in y’all that together, we can make a change.

Last week I spent two days traveling across our district, visiting Wyoming, Mercer, Summers, Raleigh, and Greenbrier counties. Along the way I was grateful to spend time with family, visit family property, and connect with constituents.

Let’s build a West Virginia where no one gets left behind. Born & raised in Logan County, I’ve sat with neighbors losing loved ones to addiction, veterans broken from wars, & kids aging out of foster care. I carry Narcan, comfort grieving mothers, & fight for folks the system abandons.
