Romi Park reprises her role as Maki Aikawa from Air Master who's now known as Tiger Master. As Tiger Master, Maki owns a martial arts dojo called Tiger Cub's Den; a reference to the wrestling anime & manga Tiger Mask. Apparently, Maki used to be a cop. From Tojima wants to be a Kamen Rider EP13.

I'm still waiting to one day get an official manga release of Kongo Bancho. This 2007 delinquent themed battle shonen is a love letter to 1980's manly manga. It was originally published in Shonen Sunday & done by Nakaba Suzuki (The Seven Deadly Sins) & remains my favorite work from this mangaka.

Dirty Pair OVA EP2. Kei & Yuri are besties that sometimes share the same brain cell. I thought it was time to pick up where I left off with my Dirty Pair rewatch. I have 8 more eps to go for the OVA series.

Tiger Mask aka Naoto Date is quickly becoming one of my newest favorite anime characters. I'm currently 70 episodes into the anime and I hope things end on high note. Screenshots are from EP70. Tiger Mask fights for ALL orphans therefore he gives his wrestling prize money to orphanages.

Shout out the ripped fishermen from Stardust Crusaders. The moment I saw these guys, I was super impressed by the jump in detail from the previous Battle Tendency. I knew from this point on I was going to enjoy the 2014 anime adaptation. My entry to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was through the OVA.

Kenshiro appearances in DD Fist Of The North Star 2 Strawberry Flavor. Despite the limited animation, DDHNK2 is one of the rare moments where a parody managed to replicate Tetsuo Hara's 1980's art style.

Akuma Shogun is the leader of the Akuma Chojin/Devil Chojin faction from Kinnikuman. His 1983 anime theme song is titled King Of Devil which is sung by Ichiro Mizuki. His debut in the Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc was the recap special EP0. However, he will make a formal return in season 3.

Himawari Ranna from Rokudou No Onna Tachi aka Rokudou's Bad Girls. Unfortunately, the anime adaptation was heavily condensed & unlikely will return for a 2nd season. Ranna is a sukeban who wields a wooden sword but she has no sword skills. Instead, she unleashes an untold amount of frenzy strength.

I'm not well versed in Kamen Rider lore but I really do like the original manga by Shotaro Ishinomori. This double page spread with Bat Man is one of many great illustrations by Ishinomori. Look at all that crosshatching on those wings and all that fur.

The Devil Knights from Kinnikuman: Junkman, The Ninja, Sunshine, Ashuraman, Planetman, & Sneagator. These 6 villains from the Devil Chojin faction will be taking the center stage during Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc Season 3.

Tiger Mask W EP7 features a flashback image of the original Tiger Mask 1969's Mask League Arc (EPs 23-26). The masked wrestlers here are Golden Mask, Egyptian Mummy, Lion Man, The Dracula & Mr. No. Absent from the Tiger Mask W visual is the scythe wielding King Satan who doesn't get do anything.

Kevin Mask from Kinnikuman Nisei aka Ultimate Muscle. He's the son of the superhero Robin Mask. For a while he was rebellious teen who ran away from home & joined the villainous dMP. After dMP's defeat, Kevin returned to the Justice Chojin & became the champion of the Chojin Olympics Resurrection.

Ranmaru Rindou from Binbougami Ga. The anime gained the English title Good Luck Girl. She debuts in EP7. Ranmaru is the definitive tomboy of the series as she dresses in male bancho attire. Her debut story arc explores her gender role whilst finding common ground with her father.

New Cutie Honey screenshots from Episode 5. The 1994 OVA is probably rendition of the character. A big favoritism for me is how close Honey looks like Go Nagai's 80's/90's artstyle. I really like the slightly muscular look to her.

Kei & Yuri from the Dirty Pair OVA Episode 1. I recently rewatched the original 1985 anime series with its new English dub. It was a good one. Wish Space Adventure Cobra could receive one, too. Anyways, it's been a decade since I last saw Dirty Pair but I've been enjoying it.

Lina Inverse from the closing song of Slayers Try. This is probably the best looking profile image of Lina prior to the design changes done in Premium or Revolution. Wish the 90's series were in better condition.

Crystal Boy aka Crystal Bowie from the Space Adventure Cobra Movie. In the Manga UK dub, he's also referred to as Lord Necron. For whatever reason, his interpretation in the movie is much more sinister. He's normally very composed. His translucent skin is played a lot to invoke this creepy smile.

Mr. Khamen from Kinnikuman. He's an Egyptian themed Devil Chojin who traps his victims with his Mummy Package. He drinks their blood by impaling them with a cartouche straw. Mr. Khamen used to be able to stun opponents with his Paralysis Flash. He can also split his body parts & levitate.

Kinkotsuman aka Skullduggery from Kinnikuman. He's initially the 1st villain of the series during its superhero gag era. But his presence has remained for causing Terryman's leg to be amputated. In 2025 manga chapters, Kinkotusman has reappeared to make amends with a new prosthetic leg for Terryman.

Hsien-Ko as she appears in the Darkstalkers NightWarriors Revenge OVA. Hisen-Ko is based on the Chinese vampire called Jiang Shi which are known to hop when their arms extended forward. She premieres in episode 2. Hsien-Ko fights by swinging her clawed sleeves or by launching weapons.

Dorohedoro anime adaptation premiered in 2020. Dorohedoro season 2 was announced in 2024, set to premiere in 2025 but now delayed to 2026. Hopefully, this'll be a longer running season with improved animation.

Victor von Gerdenheim as he appears in the Darkstalkers Night Warrior's Revenge OVA. Unfortunately, he only appears in the prologue for eps 2, 3 & 4. Despite this setback, his signature attacks are accurately represented.

Blu-Ray art for Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc vols 1 & 2 containing eps 1-23. Currently, Japan are the only ones who have a physical release of this anime. Elsewhere, the series is only available by Netflix streaming although it is not a Netflix Original Anime.

Dimitri Maximoff from Darktstalkers Revenge episode 1. Dimitri doesn't have much screentime in this 4 ep ova series but every appearance he has is good.

I don't think I have a favorite character in Dragon Ball but I am completely mesmerized by Super Saiyan 3 Goku. As typical or shallow an answer, I just really like the design. It just looks masculine to me. I also found Buu a very refreshing villain since he's uses gag manga abilities for evil.

Berserk Golden Age Memorial Edition was released in 2022. This adaptation was an episodic format of the Berserk Golden Age Trilogy films. Animation was updated in some sequences including the addition of the "Campfire Of Dreams" chapter in EP5. This scene was absent in the trilogy.

On Feb 27, 2016, Shibuya Productions released a teaser for a new Cobra anime called "Cobra The Return Of Joe Gillian". It would've depicted the Rugball Arc. Tsurugi Momotaro from the anime Sakigake!! Otokojuku. His friends call him Momo. He's the head of the 1st year students of the Otokojuku school. He tends to be very relaxed & stoic but his fighting spirit awakens when his friends are in danger or challenged to a death fight.

Toru Rikiishi from Ashita No Joe. He served as Joe's rival & friend. Rikiishi tragically dehydrated himself to fight Joe. Instead of Megalobox, the plan was to make a Rikiishi anime but Yo Moriyama wasn't confident in making a good story. However, he drew concept art prior to the cancellation.

Blue The Cyber Being from Cyber Blue. Blue is a fusion of a young boy marksman & the machine Fatso. Blue is capable of adapting his body with technology. Cyber Blue was a short manga that never got an anime adaptation. He received a modern action figure by Storm Collectibles in 2024.

Duke Togo's real alias is the sniper Golgo 13. He's considered "the pro among pros" in the criminal underworld. He charges $3 million per job & he's never failed. Golgo is a cold yet passionate killer. He's dutiful, meticulous & proficient. The last Golgo 13 anime adaptation was in 2008.

Lupin The IIIrd is the film series directed by Takeshi Koike. This iteration debuted Lupin's blue jacket. Oddly, he hasn't worn it since the first film Jigen's Gravestone yet it can be briefly seen in Goemon's Bloodspray. Since then, Lupin has worn a black jacket but he mainly remains in a shirt.

Kenshiro is the 64th successor of Hokuto Shinken; The Divine Fist Of The North Star. Kenshiro uses this assassination fist to protect the oppressed from bandits & tyrannical rulers. His heart bears love and sorrow which becomes his source of strength. He's the definitive manly hero archetype.
