Work continues on the parking lot expansion here at the Railway History Campus! Additional ballast and gravel fill arrived by the truckload throughout the week to prepare the lot for the final layer which will be made of interlocking pavers to allow rainwater to permeate into the ground.

Collection care technicians were surprised to discover a original, unaltered ceiling panel in the "A" end hallway of Northern Pacific Railway parlor car 1049. It was hidden beginning more than 100 years ago when a drop down ceiling was added, possibly to hide some water damage.

Britt Allcroft, 14 December 1943 - 25 December 2024. The British-born producer adapted and brought the Reverend Wilbert Awdry's Thomas the Tank Engine stories to life on film and TV. This success spawned a merchandising powerhouse, and the Museum's Day Out With Thomas events.

Earlier this year, the Museum was delighted to provide locations for scenes in an upcoming motion picture. We were impressed by actor Joel Edgerton's interest in the Museum's programs, and appreciate his permission to be photographed. We will share more details when the movie is released.

Exciting times as we complete the roof replacement on the 1890-built Snoqualmie Depot. More than 150 square of decorative western red cedar shingles went into the new roof, and the custom non-ferrous gutters and flashing really contribute to a beautiful fresh look.
