I’m editing my writing project, an exploration of ancestry. My boldness is shocking. It’s going to cause trouble in the family! My words are MY truth. I’m as entitled as those whose say the outrageous things that stun me to silence. Are the words worth the high price? Sometimes the answer is yes.

Princess Bride deck! I cried as Billy Crystal spoke of Rob Reiner at the Oscars. Sadness mingled with a vision for a better world. We have the Call, inspiration. Like in Minneapolis, it’s doing a helpful thing in front of us that turns the tide. One small act of love makes the next one inevitable.

By the 10th generation, 300 years, DNA from our ancestors is insignificant. Memories are held in DNA. Maybe we’ve forgotten what it was like to have a king. What it feels like. Some DNA last longer. Mother to daughter. Father to son. I remember. March 28.

The insane actions of these horrid people seems to justify harshly judging those I know who supported them. It feels unhealthy being so sure of my moral purity and their moral failings. It’s hard to resist the urge to point a finger and hiss— you’ve blood on your hands. I’m working on it. Love 1st.

So yummy to be celebrated what you love. Working hard at a craft, taking risks, having that valued by others. Yum! It can be a trap though. If you want to do something new, change your mind, grow, you lose cache. You’ve betrayed your fans now. They may never forgive you. Get free. Grow anyway.

I’ve a collection of genealogy books. Mine were the colonizers. The majority came in the 1600s. They did bad things thought to be okay then. They also defended with their lives ideals I hold. Trump targets little girls. In a land of targets, with not many girls’ schools, that’s what he hits? Calling on the loving hearts now. Protection that transcends, endures. Nurture children so they know what love is. Give time, snuggles, play. Read stories. Reassure. Yourself as well as others.

Fool card day 2! Deck’s booklet says trust the Universe, but it’s not an open invitation to take stupid risks, like keeping a leader who is stealing, a threat children, and outlaw. Rather, trust the Universe will bring a good, honest, smart, compassionate leader. Act to make it so.

The book for this deck asks of the fool to keep trusting one who harms. Yeah, no, Wise Tarot person. That’s silly. Instead, how about allowing for new experiences? Writer Suleika Jouad invites us to switch up “live each day as if it’s your last” to “as if it’s your first.” That’s foolishness I get.

We fear how time can normalize something horrifying. It becomes mundane. Like shooting men in the backs 10x. Arresting children in bunny hats. Epstein class. I’ve normalized a bad boyfriend. Well, tried to. Actually, I thought I was fixing him. I just lost me. Until one day. It all turned around.

When Trump and MAGA are gone, and I believe in my heart this terror will end, there will be a race to grab power. When Tsar Nicholas was taken out, Lennon had marginal support. He made promises to the best revolutionaries, then betrayed them. The goal is power to the people. Not power to a person.

Without imagination, we keep choosing what we already have. When I hear talk of might makes right, and the virtue of dominance, I know they lack imagination. Cannot fathom defeating voices saying they’re worthless without violence. It’s an early trap. Get by it, so much more becomes possible!

I don’t want my country to be one that hunts down its own innocent children. The impulse to burn, shoot, hurt. I want to gently take the hand of the toddler reaching for fire, and firmly say, NO. When it’s all burned down, what do these reckless ones think they’ll have as spoils? Ashes and blood.

I spend time wringing my hands. Upset. In tears. Civil war does that to me. I remember to, to be grateful for my beautiful life. I live in a beautiful place. Flowers, trees, ocean. I’ve beloveds and dear ones. Dogs! Books. Stories. Food. Health. It brings balance back, like the Helpers do in wartime

The freeze here in FL devastated the plants. 81 here yesterday. Tiny green emerging from bare branches. Can’t force a plant to grow or live. It takes coaxing. Care. Warmth. Water. Force has its place, I concede. But it won’t grow a fern or tree. Needs met. Love. Light. Air. Nutrients. Such beauty!

In 1 day using AI, I solved 3 genealogy problems I’ve been struggling with for a year. It’s a tool to be used for good or evil. Like the internet. $. Drugs. Open mind doesn’t mean no mind. Critical thinking. Ask questions. I know now ancestors had slaves. They learned better. Changed. Did better.

We are nearly 40 years married. There is still love here! We are not always equal partners. It shifts. Daily. Hourly. 80/20 his way. 100/0 mine. 30/70. Sometimes 50/50. We fight for it at times. Toss it gladly too. He handles cell phone companies always! Such hell! Works for us. Mostly. I like it.

I’ve known how a little given to me to help out, small change to the giver, was game changing for me. I’ve been the give because I get it. Small change can lead to big change. Look at MN. The Helpers poured out. A network grew like spider webs on a summer night. Love given. Love received.

In tears…again

A strong woman told me her response to her husband saying she was crazy. “I might be crazy, but it’s my reality. If you’re with me, my reality is part of your reality.” Thoughts become things. Think your own thoughts. Others think things too. Respect, integrity, love. Do no harm, but take no shit.

I’m celebrating the Helpers, like Renee and Alex, there with cameras observing. Even after the murders, they show up, despite the risk. They care about people. That question we asked in Jr high after reading Anne Frank, would I risk my life to help a stranger? They have their answer. I’m Grateful.

River had a rough night. Going to vet. Heard a few neighbor dogs are sick. He’s staying close. Looking for comfort. Relief. It’s my role. To do all I can to meet his needs, including calming fears. When the one charged with that job, puts your life at risk instead, it’s betrayal. Know who I mean?

I dream ideas into the material world. Exciting, but daunting. Thoughts are things. Think good thoughts. Inspired action makes fantasy reality. I’m thinking joyful dancing to uplifting music. Swaying to peaceful sound. The bad guys in an angel’s silver net, safe until they grow their hearts back.

The curtain is pulled back. We see the scared man trying to protect himself, then, lusts for power. When Dorothy shows up, she and her dog bring it all down. He is still charming. Still offering help, even moments of wisdom, but in the end, it’s her path to do what needs doing herself. Go Dorothy.

Monks’ Peace Walk, Bad Bunny’s Half Time show. A tiny tiny easing of the Darkness of the Bad People’s reign of terror. Hope seeps in through the cracks. Mr.Rogers was right. There are ALWAYS helpers. Doing what we can to help, including being part of millions watching a good show, it inspires.

I’ve a gratitude practice. Bedtime and morning I list 3 things I’m thankful for. Good for me. It helps counter the hours I practice noticing what’s wrong. Let’s be real. A lot is wrong. I’m grateful for the Helpers. The mamas who are standing up. The men who lean in with kindness. Look for goodness.

Loved stories of helper elves as a kid. Still do. Small tasks can overwhelm when life is already overwhelming. In this civil war many asking, what can I do to help? They do the thing in front of them. A meal. Donation. Email. Call. Body in a rally. Sing. Drum. Walk for peace. Pray. Hope. Shine.

The Peace Walking Monks announced a Loving Kindness meditation on the 11th in Washington. Imagine the power of all that goodness radiating out to warm us. What cold things might melt in such loving heat? Fear is impossible to feel when you’re curious. Hate is hard to hold when your heart is soft.

I’m in FL now, and it’s cold. I grew up in ND, then moved to MN. Dress right, you live. Don’t, you lose body parts. Could die. That lasts months. Every day. A choice, a wrong step on black ice, cracked skull. Neighbors shovel other’s sidewalk. It’s survival. Every day. MN does a lot of hard stuff.
