We unfortunately had to say goodbye to our sweet Lottie. You let us know you couldn't keep fighting the cancer, so we had one last morning Sunbeam snuggle, played lasers one last time & I held you as we let you go. Thank you for being the bestest basset buddy ever

An old friend who's a teacher by trade posted a story about a teacher grading papers in his hospital bed & passing away the next day. She (correctly) called bullshit on this expectation. Then she said "So unless we're taking a bullet, no more working till we die" and I really just can't right now
