I always see writing advice on how to make one’s writing tighter or how to cut what’s unnecessary - but I rarely see advice for people like myself, who chronically underwrites. Send help plssssss what do I do 🥲

Nothing is less Tolkien than wasting fresh water to produce crap. He was literally thinking the industrialisation had gone too far back in the 40s (!), and he was deeply worried about how nobody cared about trees anymore. (The Rest is History podcast has a lovely series on him and his works)
