The industrial military complex is going into overdrive to cream off extra billions and leave ordinay people with poorer education, healthcare and life choices. And in any wars they join or start, it's the poor who will be cannon-fodder for the top echelon who will care nothing for them.

The Telegraph says the median wealth of Brits has fallen more than all other comparable countries, and it mentions, the pandemic, Russia's invasion of Ukraine pushing up energy costs, plus the housing market slump. But it fails to mention that biggest reason for the fall in wealth, Brexit.

Increasing GDP doesn't make life better for most people. But it does give the rich more money and big business more money for shareholders, who are mostly rich people. I don't ever recall any boss saying to their workers, 'great news everyone; GDP is up so I'm going to increase your wages'.
