sunday session : not a massive fan of kmfdm, so only have a couple of their albums, but there are times their cliched, irony infused take on industrial makes me grin. i mean, surely they aren't meant to be taken seriously are they !?

so last night : after watching the 'bat out of hell' musical (don't ask !), i ended up at the pub where there was a 30th birthday party for the daughter of a friend. the dj dropped alien sex fiend, kmfdm, nin, nitzer ebb into the selections. best pub party ever ? quite possibly.

sunday session : after some randoms, time for a mixtape. one of the best minimal/techno/whatever mixtapes that i have in the archive. perfect machine music for a dark sunday evening.

sunday session : alongside the ongoing love'in for playgroup/underdog remixes, have added this excellent 2cd collection of ewan pearson remixes to this evenings playlist.

post pub friday session : loads and loads of trevor jackson/underdog/playgroup remixes. simple as that.

thursday session : after last weeks session involving a lot of remixes by underdog aka trevor jackson, i tracked down a very reasonably priced copy of this promo only 2cd set of remixes by playgroup aka trevor jackson. less than a tenner incl. postage. well chuffed given the usual prices.

wednesday session endzone : time for guitars + late night vibes. sort of. this album and its follow up were never properly released in the uk, so i had to get a US based friend to send me them.

wednesday session : ok, back to basics. for me this is a comfort album. i love love love this. that said, the same holds true for everything by superdrag.

wednesday session : yeah yeah, how on earth can i go from classic era electronica to radio 2 sanctioned rock/pop !!? no idea, but i care not. this album is basically gary and his longtime mate production legend, jacknife lee. subsequently it's a lot more interesting sonically than you'd expect.

wednesday session : currently experiencing a listening party with tBd for one of the best albums of the year.

in other news : after years of sonos vs wi-fi dropout chaos, i've resolved this issue. no longer do i have the ethernet cable sticking out of my laptop. if you have windoze desktop vs sonos app problems, then holla. i've been on wi-fi now for days since i made the change, and no dropouts

wednesday session : years since i gave this mix of goth and electro a spin. doubt i will listen to it all, but if i remember rightly, wasn't days after the release of this 'solo' album, billy announced the reformation of the pumpkins, thereby effectively killing off the pr cycle ?

wednesday session : having been nudged, i just played 'siamese dream' for first time in years. unexpectedly, given my 'tude re guitar music these days, i absolutely loved every minute of it. so have decided to play this side project album that i seem to recall no-one liked.

sunday session endzone : after the drones of namlook et al, i had a massive urge to check out an album i have not heard in a very very long time. this album along with tBd/Spanners and Scanner/Spore totally rewired my head re electronica. despite its age, this still sounds brilliant.

sunday session : time for some dark-n-dense ambience. was lucky to still be working when these reissues/boxsets were released.

sunday session : alongside DiV there was UNKLE who also dived deep into the rock/electronica side of things. this is a string section enhanced version of their brilliant 'end titles .. ' album.

sunday session : this was when it became that DiV had moved into a new era. loved this a lot more than the previous celeb vox enhanced albums.

in other news : i have found the 3 desktop images that were released as part of this campaign in my archive. i genuinely thought the advert was all cgi and not real, so loved reading about how it all happened. fascinating stuff.

sunday session : there was a time i genuinely believed that o.children were going to crossover and become a big name. their debut album was an excellent mix of goth and nu-era post punk. loved it. they also had connections as some of the remixes on this set are fantastic.

sunday session : kicking the evening off with something a little less intense than last nights selections. sort of. love the mix of machines and dots vocals. it's certainly not one dove part 2.

saturday session : time for a live album. not one i have listened to that many times to be fair, so no idea as to whether it's worthy. but given the current groove @ ireallylovemusic hq, then i had to give it another spin. i.e. the extra 'free' live cd that came with the cd edition.

thursday session : in 1990 i picked up the US cd edition of this in helsinki. me and my then future wife saw them headline a festival in the middle of nowhere of finland. they were truly transcendental. r.i.p. mani.

thursday session : time for a mixtape on this boilers-on-its-last-leg f-f-f-reezing evening. part of last weekends "2 for £3" deal via musicmagpie, i am seriously chuffed re this particular 'find'.

and yes, that includes gedge who stood in front of me at so many gigs during my time in leeds it became a running joke.

doubt many folks will dig this collection out this evening, but the fact is, i really love some of these remixes. saw the stone roses twice. the best was during the height of their powers era headlining a midsummer finnish festival. mani & reni locking into a groove = insanely good. r.i.p mani.

thursday session : in the middle of the night for some reason i remembered this album and realised it has been a long time since i listened to it. a definite swerve from the usual bomb the bass style by encompassing a sample free bleep heavy dirty electronica sound. loving it.
