Bee’s Summer Movie Watch The Company of Wolves (1983) Neil Jordan Werewolf movies aren’t as varied as vampire movies, which is a shame because there’s a lot of potential. My case in point, this movie, which digs more into the fairytale side of the myth. Very cool looking anthology.

For people new to DC Comics, I want to let you know that there are a lot of sentient gorilla characters. Like, a *lot* of gorillas and monkeys in the DC universe. One is in love with a disembodied brain in a jar. So far, adaptations have been too cowardly to dip into the deep gorilla lore.

Sometimes I feel bad that it's taken me (going on three now) years to write and publish my book. Then I remember it took GDT 20+ years to get Frankenstein made. I feel slightly better.

I love Aardman animation, but I'm always overcome with the urge to bite the characters. I just think the clay looks so texturally pleasing to bite into. They'd taste like taffy or something. I want to eat them.

Criticisms about directors doing the same thing over and over again are bad-faith takes. Artists will always build off of themes they like. It's like going to a burger stand and complaining they only sell burgers. If you don't like burgers, don't eat there.

When I say cult classic, I think of movies that are made out of pure love over profit. Pet projects, big swings in underused genres, niche stories. We don't get that anymore. To see a film like Sinners do good in theaters is healthy for the film ecosystem
