I've taken to playing octopath on the switch in bed before i go to sleep. I tend to have very little energy for gaming, and the game is perfect for that as its a full on jrpg that i can just put down and pick up at any time. Great for little 30 minute sessions. Have wanted to beat it for awhile.

2025 was also by far the year i played the least videogames, but the ones i did play for more than a few hours (caves of qud mostly) have left a pretty intense impact on me.

my 2026 goals: move from contractor to full-time drink less (return to 2023 era iq where i did not have any alcohol) bend the world to my will a little bit more. being rushed along sucks.

hollow knight was such an innocent game. an adventure brought about by a feeling. silksong is a brutal commentary, a press towards madness and what revenge means. its no wonder the game is so much harder. not that hollow knight was free of this of course, but man you had to seek it.

I truly feel that if youre willing to give caves of qud the space it deserves it will take you on a spiritual journey. One that will pierce you to your soul and make you question what reality can even be, what people are and what the future even is. I am only left with more thoughts than answers.

caves of qud is madness incarnate. a potential energy unrealized for most but appealing to few. a concept of sandbox that can be or cannot be depending on the run. the evocative drive that i seek in a game where anything is possible within the bounds of the reality set before me.

there is such a well of things i still dont understand in qud. I bought a taco suprema and just ate the thing and I have no idea what that means. I hope it was worth the 600 drams i paid for it
