Destroid Spartan 2 of 2. To have your work published by peers is an honor beyond measure and I'm so very grateful. As to the model, green is original plastic all the rest is new and scratchbuilt. I'm extra proud of the base which added to the story I was going for.

When watching TV, typically I snap together a modern Gundam but they've bored me recently so I've been gluing together older kits instead. Finished this Dorvack Paladin yesterday. Oh my, it was awesome! I enjoy the assembly challenges of older models and this one was a peach! And that clear runner!❤️

Monday thought: If you appreciate one's scale model craftwork, the beauty of their art, their commentary and helpfulness in their posts, how can your opinion of them diminish when you "discover" their race, religion, sexuality, etc? This invalidation makes absolutely no sense to me...

Another throwback project, 1/72 Harlock's Me262 from "The Cockpit" anime and manga by the incomparable Leiji Matsumoto. It's not in my DNA to finish something based on reality or history, I prefer to give it a fantasy/sci-fi, media, or personal spin. Kit came with those fabulous water slides.

Dspiae are good but not great tool makers and suppliers. Here are God Hand and Dspiae sanding sponges. While GH grit is impregnated into the sponge, D just glues sandpaper on. Results, GH are usable down to becoming polishing pads while D's rip and flake, simply falling apart too early.

Another large crowd last night at IPMS Patriot Scale Modelers' monthly meeting! Another new member! Another table full of models for show & tell! Gotta say, this is the best way to spend a Friday night; good convo with great people and terrific craftwork to ogle. Hmmm...chapter Bluesky account...🤔

I've never been afraid to post my failures. With the spinning prop attached, I find it came out wrong. The hub/blade contact point is too far forward and the blades need to be feathered out more (wider and less saturated the further out). Concept good, execution bad. Back to the bench...

Since the motor to spin the original prop failed, trying out another option to make the prop appear to be spinning. So far, not bad. Not great but not bad.

Another older project, combining the original HG Gouf and the 1/144 Dodai YS from 1981. The monoeye is a piece of clear pink sprue lit by a tiny LED. Wired thru the Gouf and into the Dodai where the battery pack is located, behind the rear thruster pack. One of my earliest attempts at customizing.

New tool, a hot wire foam cutter. Picked up cheap on Alieexpress. Shipped from a US company and arrived in a couple days. Assembled very easily. Tested briefly, badly melted the first piece of foam then dialed down the voltage to where i got a clean cut. Look forward to using on an upcoming base.

Another older project, part of a "birth year buildoff". Gundam didn't exist when I was born in 1965 and finding a model was rough but mission accomplished: a Hawk P-47D Thunderbolt, combined with a Gundam Converge Zaku II. "Der Roten Kometen" dio retelling the Battle of Loum. Fun project all around!

Cleaning out the fridge, found these drinks in the back that the kids didn't care for (love when unwanted stuff gets buried...). Looked at the caps and instantly saw "thruster nozzles"! Added to the spare parts bin! And the drink wasn't bad either, just saying 😅.

Needed to put something up for the current project, the 1/48 Gee Bee "Batman 1935". I love oil weathering but do struggle with laying it down right and not taking forever to complete. Results so far are good, not great. But I'm improving with each application...I think 😅.
