When I was in early grade school I remember reading a story assigned to us. It was “Obstinate Uncle Otis”. I remember being blown away by it. It was the first thing I read where reality was thrown out the window and fantasy took its place. It’s so strange that I still remember it.

I’ve been watching Shrinking on AppleTV and I really like the show but it doesn’t have to try and make me cry every episode. It makes me way too introspective and I know it’s using narrative tricks to pull my strings but I still fall for it every time.

January has been a long year

They are predicting 19 inches of snow. First, it’s Wednesday. They can’t predict Thursday with certainty. Second. If there was 19 inches of snow you might as well close the state. 19 inches was a lot of snow from one storm when I lived in MA. I think the meteorologists are getting too excited.

He’s shown you over a lifetime that he can’t be taken at his word and what he says has no bearing on what he will do. Why would every news organization print what he says as rock solid truth without a huge disclaimer?

After watching the first episode of Pluribus I thought that this was obviously going to be a horror show. Now that I’m several episodes in I think I was right but the horror is not the visceral horror you associate with the genre. It’s deep inside you twisting what it means to be human.
