The modern world in America is built for the “convenience” of motor vehicles. But the truth that people don’t want to hear is this: Cars ruin cities. Riley is dead, because drivers have the world catered to their every need while pedestrians, bikers, and public transit riders get the crumbs.

The US has carved itself out of international law on so many fronts, and is now extending that exception to climate. There is a clear international legal obligation to cooperate on climate, and to prevent significant harm to the environment. Dismantling these stations is a breach of law.

This is exactly what happens when cars are the default transportation policy. EVs are often sold as the ultimate fix, but they take up the exact same amount of space as gas cars. A blanket "cars-for-everything" policy will always fail because geometry always wins.
