I think one of the funniest things with video games is that the people who are really bad want to be as good as the best players and the best players would have more fun if they were as bad as the bad players.

so a copy of Resident Evil Requiem was gifted to me and I've been playing it... normally I do not use the local dimming on my monitor because it fucks up non dark scenes and even bright lights in dark scenes but it is transformative in this game.

As much as I love Nioh 3 (and this sort of extends to N1 and 2) I will never understand why they designed a whole system for "Bursting" and then spent 3 games trying to make it harder to use by undermining it

Every time I see a new steam hardware survey I wonder if it can be used to suggest what the average person has computer wise or if it's too small a sample? if it is accurate... why does the AAA scene have seemingly zero interest in making games run on these lower specs?

related to this literally no one who is bad at the game is parsing gold or 90+ with just wrath plugin, this is a myth... the amount of slide canceling and positioning you have to do just makes it unlikely, more likely is players who are already in the upper levels just using it to be lazier with dps

it's very interesting to see people writing about people calling out people for which plugins they use in FFXIV by seeing them be suspiciously good at damage while being bad with mechanics... it's interesting because they can only tell because of their damage meter overlay plugin.

as I have been playing again very lightly (mostly leveling a couple jobs and planning to finally do Dawntrail MSQ) I wanted to say Dragoon is still my favorite class, it's not just the class mechanics and aesthetics though it's how important it was to Stormblood.

it's really interesting that practically every game that releases now no matter how it runs in flooded with "fix the performance" it made sense with games like Monster Hunter Wilds, but for example I've seen Nioh 3 get 1080p60 on a GTX 1080 Ti and still look good for an open world game.

it's gotta be a weird feeling for a band or solo artist when they peak with a song early on and spend their whole career trying to be that good again, and even if the music is amazing it never quite matches that...

after some months with it I am now a little more torn with how I feel about the Ember Mug, if your drinks lack milk or milk alternatives it is great, but if you drink things with milk etc in them best do it in 10-15 minutes or the warmth will start to make a skin on top of the drink YUCK

second solo victory in Slay the Spire 2 was a Necrobinder doom build, I admit I redid the final fight like 4 times (if you close the game it resumes at the beginning of the fact) but it was the Doormaker so I do NOT feel bad at all for cheesing it a bit with resets lol.

took forever because my brain has a hard time with this game but I got my first StS2 solo run with over 80 hours of play time lol... was a Silent shiv build with basically every shiv upgrade you can imagine.

Genuine curious why so many games start on the wrong monitor with multi monitor computer setups... is it the games fault? is it an engines fault? is it windows fault? some combination of the above? weird annoying shit.

This is part crash out and part long term realization but almost all of the scales the specialty coffee communities prop up as the best are kind of garbo, they all either have useless features designed to inflate the price for no real world benefit or have mystying power saving features.

it's interesting to me that Slay the Spire 2 community can kind of be split into 3 groups, people who consistantly win runs and play at a very high level, people who play at a middling level and finish runs a lot of the time and people who struggle with the game in a major way.

How do we feel about Streamers who hold their own stream hostage till they hit a sub goal? sitting there faffing about on camera doing nothing until a sub goal is met... seems kind of meh to me but I wonder if I just don't get it.

I don't know who needs to hear this but StS2 having the skip button where it often is feels like an act of aggression.

What I am learning about Slay the Spire 2 is that EVERYTHING is dependant on picking a build ahead of time and not taking things that do not fit no matter how strong, a lean deck is a strong deck in most cases (exhaust deck is fun though)

Note about my comments about StS2 earlier, this is the second deck builder I have really dug into, the other is a demo for a game that isn't even out yet... it's a genre I have not in the past been interested in so I am very much lacking experience.

Slay the Spire 2 is interesting to me in that as a coop game I have a wonderful time and as a solo game I cannot stand it, I just do not wrap my head around the whole picture but I am pretty good at complimenting someone else.

despite my negative comments about some of it's visuals I AM very much enjoying Crimson Desert, it's rough around the edges but there is still a lot to enjoy if you are the right type for it.

just going to come out and say it, every single game with forced ray traced lighting looks awful indoors with and without, the two biggest examples were Dragon's Dogma 2 and the newly released Crimson Desert, they look good outside mostly although still very weird sometimes but I miss raster.
