Testing new cc and a new reshade preset since I kinda lost the one I had made... meet Artur Morales. He's romantically reserved, socially awkward and a bookworm.

First I changed these pieces to "Head decorations" and nothing showed up in head decorations. Then I kept them as hats but changed the hat category to head decorations. Now they all show up where they're supposed to. When I feel like it I'll do it to everything else that should be in the category

I dont know what i did that i lost my reshade preset… well, let’s watch @amoebae.bsky.social tutorials again to come up with a new one. This time i want some more pink-ish and well lit on sim’s faces…

Now on to test what I've gotten (thank you Adrien Pastel for reuploading stuff that was long gone!) and what I've changed categories to see if it all works.

The downside of downloading any new cc is having to run all fixes & index number fix for everything downloaded. It generates more backups to delete and takes a long time to fix depending on how much cc you've added to your folder. Just spent about 1h30 hours doing this... in the end it's worth it!

I'm doing another test here. I'm moving some stuff that is categorised as hats but are not exactly hats. You know, ear muffs, headphone, sunglasses on top of the head, bunny ears, etc. I'm setting these as head decorations. Hoping it works, since the skin effects I tried moving didn't work.

I removed something labelled as "glasses" when it fact it was in the eyeliner category. The one labelled as "eyeliner" was actually a skin detail. Why do creators do this?

I really don’t remember removing no make up from my mods folder but apparently i did because i’ve been opening some households on cas and it shows something’s been removed. Unless it was hidden in a folder outside make up i have no clue what i did.

I have eyelashes that mod manager won't show in eyelashes category, skin details that show up as blush, shoes for males that only show up for females. It's hard to understand how or why that happens in mod manager. Also mod manager says there's an update, but there's nothing on the site

There's this one sim I literally remade him last week, changed everything, replaced a lot of missing cc, etc, and there is still one piece of cc tray importer says it's missing, supposedly an eyeliner. And I'm like... that's impossible! I removed all make up before saving him. Maybe it's a bug.

Edit: I was right. It's Skin Specularity indeed for anything to show up under Skin Effects.

Does anyone know how should I categorize something to appear as bodygloss? I'm thinking it's the skin specularity category in sims4studio but I ain't sure. And I can't find an example by anyone (no, I'm not creating cc, just changing something into that category to use more slots)

Sooo as a last thing I'm doing for my library organising I'm redownloading a folder of 14gb of cc that I know a lot of stuff I used to use is there. I have long deleted around 90% of that content since it's mostly not my current style, but my older sims are all butt naked!

It's being fun revisiting old sims and bringing them to the vision I had when I didn't have the skills. RJ was one of the first sims I've ever made. I didn't understand how sliders worked, I would just slap something for them to wear and not even think about skin details.

Here's one more case of 2020 sim, "what I did" and "what I wanted to do". And I thought I was rocking CAS back then...

And the last one I couldn't open, Collin. He's supposed to be a shy and awkward young adult, who happens to be aroace. He's a geek and loves superheroes. Right is the original version, left is the current one. I wanted to give him nerdy vibes without changing too much his appearance.

And this is Troy, the sim that made me investigate what in the actual fuck was happening to my game! He was originally married to Ji and I loved playing with them. But I've always felt like he didn't look like how I wanted him to. The one in magenta is the original, the one in yellow is the new one

You will never believe when i tell you what was causing that. I feel extremely stupid right now 😂 what do all these broken sims have in common? They all used tattoo body hair by luumia, which i have deleted years ago! Now the game looks for it and doesnt know what to replace the file with 🫠

We don’t have native strawberry blond hair colour. It’s either full blond or orange, nothing in between

Now this one also lost his entire outfit. At least he kept his undies! Also skintone lost. Why am I doing this to myself?
