Building something new Author of "Software Engineering for Data Scientists"
pinned post!
My latest book, “Software Engineering for Data Scientists”, was published by
@oreilly.bsky.social
in April this year. It’s a guide for data scientists looking to improve their coding skills, and it’s deliberately friendly. You can buy a copy here:

I'm all in on coding with AI. Most days it makes me feel like when I first discovered Python - many new things are possible! This classic from xkcd (
xkcd.com/353/
) sums it up. Then other days, Claude says things like "Let me read the current state of the file before guessing" and I'm back to earth.

I really enjoyed this! Thank you
@mkennedy.codes
for inviting me on the show. Our conversation included refactoring notebooks, testing notebook-derived code, and changing your mindset when you're moving to production code. There's also a book giveaway - see the show notes to enter!

Hello Bluesky! A quick introduction/reintroduction and update from me. I’ve been in data science for a while but now I’m exploring the space between data science and software engineering. I’m a Pythonista, author and public speaker.
