When I was in the ER, the woman in the bed next to me had very similar symptoms of a heart attack. She kept going outside for cigarette breaks. I can only imagine how ... frustrating (?) ... that must be for ER docs.

I finally got around to looking at my lab reports and they did a syhphilis screen which made me laugh 😆 until I learned that it is performed after a heart attack—particularly in cases with unusual characteristics—because untreated syphilis can lead to cardiovascular syphilis. Who knew!

We stayed at Snoqualmie Falls & had dinner overlooking them. Just outside the dining room was a gauge measuring the speed of the water at any given time. I was so worried about who would take care of Lilo cat that the ER physician brought in a social worker. An actual social worker came to speak to me about what we could do to look afer her while I was in hospital and that is so indicative of the incredibly kind human care that I received. 💞

The person who took care of Lilo Cat is one of Bestie's friends. The first time I met her was when she came to the hospital to pick up my house keys. What a special human being. 💫💞 #Kindness #Humanity

A week ago I was desperate & so tried telehealth for the 1st time. She prescribed me a puffer. 3 days later I had an appt. w/ my family doc, who has known me for 20+ years. He said: I know you never complain so throw that shit out and get yourself to the ER. A story of why everyone deserves a GP. ⚕️

I shared the hospital room w/ 3 other people. There was a lot of talk about how grateful we are to be in the 🇨🇦 health care system. 1 of the folks has congential heart disease & has had 3 open heart surgeries. He said that he would be homeless if not for Canada & I said: actually, you'd be dead. 🇨🇦💞
