I'm enjoying Red Rising, for what it is, but I really hope the later books cool it with the Greek myth references. I understand the society is trying to emulate the Hellenistic era, but it's A LOT right now and kind of detracts from the world building #BookSky

Such an idiotic stance to take. Comedy, as all things do, evolves naturally through shifts in people's tastes and opinions. That's a good thing and means that we get actual NEW comedy. Bringing it back to 2000s humour is just regression and serves no real purpose.

#SFFChat Q3 He's fluctuated from villain to anti-hero to regular hero and back and forth, but I've always loved Venom. The themes of loneliness and conflicting morality that he faces have always been important to me, and I've never stopped being a fan, even with the varying quality of his media.

#SFFChat Q2 A protagonist is just a character that serves as a vessel for the story to be told, they are not restricted by morality or motive, simply the way they are used. A hero is somebody with typically altruistic beliefs, who stands against some form of adversity in order to protect others.

#SFFChat Q1 A large portion of Raph and Eric's story in book 1 revolves around the burdens and demands of heroism. It is innately good to put another before oneself but at what point do you sacrifice so much that you are no longer capable of continuing? And at what point is it too late to be a hero?

I keep putting off the fact that I need to get some kind of author photo done. I'll be attending a local fiction festival later this year, and they want one to include for me. But I also don't know what to do that won't make me look like shit.

That's a firm no. I've worked in the film industry, and the only thing better than the final product is the experience of putting it together and the people who choose to do so. There is beauty in witnessing the creation of art, that is lost if you relegate all work to a machine.

While his goals genuinely are quite similar to Oedon's, their duality comes down to a question of balance between a noble goal and the cost of pursuing that goal. Can saving billions justify killing millions? Is there a way to save everyone? Should we be saved at all? #WriteSky #WritingCommunity

He's such a different antagonist to Artorius and Morguein, in that he believes that his goals are ultimately for the greater good while the former two simple believed that they deserved something greater He's also a bit of an ass, which is also fun

God of War trilogy remake is pretty cool, but the fact it's only now entering development only makes me more curious what they've been doing since Ragnarok.

There was a time when I was really good at finishing video games. That time is over. My attention span must be degrading, because if a game is too long, I just won't finish it. For example, I've loved playing Hades, but I got to the final boss once and no longer have any motive to finish the game.

I kinda hate that, since I've started writing, I can now more easily pick out errors in other works. I already ruined filmmaking for myself by peeking under the cover and learning how they make that particular sausage, now I've damaged the way I consume books too. #WriteSky #WritingCommunity
