#NovemberWorldbuilders There are a number that have taken place, but the most relevant that is not elaborated on too heavily in DbD is the Scapegoat War. It was led by the devout sect of the Aeg Volaris, who believed the devil king Azazel to be a usurper who took the throne through ill means.

When it comes to Leonora's feelings for Cecilia, I would say no. They fell in love with her because she offered them something they had never before known. But both have changed immensely since that time, and what the both of them need from a relationship cannot be found in one another anymore.

For me it's Marda Ro's turn to mania in Cavan Scott's Path of Vengeance. She's taken from a lovable girl who just wants to spread peace, to a devout believer that death is the only solution to her problems, and it is executed in such a heartbreakingly understandable way. #Bookvember 24

#Bookvember 23 It has to be one of the Sun Eater books for me. Probably Howling Dark because I think that's the one where Hadrian's biases are the most blatant. It's not that he is intentionally altering the narrative, but it is very clear that he is a man whose mind is shaped by his universe.

#Novmemeber 19 Defined by Damnation was originally Riding on the Edge. I changed it once I had a better grasp on the core themes at play. Book 2 has about four different titles that I've seriously considered; Bounds of Affection, Bound to Devotion, As Far as Affection Goes, and The Blazing Cage

I absolutely adore the Dune series. But God Emperor of Dune was kind of a slog to get through, and really homophobic at points. I didn't hate it overall, but I saw so many people hyping it up as the craziest book in the series, and I really didn't think it was all that.

Raph, in particular, learns to love, and allow others to, love herself. She has spent all of her life living for the benefit of others, while unknowingly neglecting her own health, both mentally and physically. Only through this story does she learnt that she needs to focus on herself sometimes.

Aester Hyde is Cecilia's main counter. He believes that the Lord's of Duralaans cannot be persuaded and must be forced into doing the right thing. He believes merit is derived from strength alone, and if suffering must be endured to create that outcome, so be it. #WriteSky #WritingCommunity

#Novmemeber 17 Oedon can (and does) info-dump about the nature of causality and the systems of fate that uphold the world's reality. He does not enjoy doing this, however, because people will inevitably argue with him.

I feel like this would make Defined by Damnation a rom-com. Except instead of being about stopping an evil getting resurrected, it'd be about people trying to stop a good guy from being alive. There would be no fantasy, and everyone would start off mentally healthy but go insane by the end.

Cecilia is tempted by fear of the alternative. She does not truly want to be Queen, but she has no idea who might take up the responsibility if she did not, not if it would be for the better or worse.

This isn't the case for every character, but for many of them the concepts go hand in hand. The results are not so valuable if they come at the cost of personal values like honour, and most of my characters try to strike a balance as much as they can. #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts

The way Lokey dissects Dark Souls' lore (alongside The Silmarillion) very much inspired the way I will write out my own lore when worldbuilding. Writing lore in such a way that analyses itself has helped me to make history that isn't just dressing, but actually has some level of thematic relevance.

I haven't even set a 100% solid release date, and I'm still considering delaying. I want this thing out, but I also want it to be as good as possible and have everything done well before it actually launches, so I have plenty of time to double check everything. #Writing #WritingCommunity #WIP
