Blwyddyn 3 had a great time learning about materials and conductors in science at @techniquest.org! We also enjoyed exploring the science exhibits together.

Yesterday afternoon St Paul’s turned into a movie theatre! A huge thankyou to the PTA for helping to make movie night such a success for the children.

Year 6 used the bar model to help us with fractions today. It is amazing to see thinking mathematically!

In Year 4, we have started to explore the importance of Abraham to Christians and Jewish people using just 3 why questions. Da iawn, pawb!

Year 6 loved our first session with Cardiff city!

Year 6 used their designs to make models that they then animated!

Year 6 used the animals in the story of The Arrival to design their own creatures.

Year 2 had a wonderful trip led by David Hall @CardiffHarbourAuthority @CardiffBay yesterday to introduce our Inquiry question, followed by a boat trip around the bay. We practised our navigation skills and learning about Cardiff Bay. We enjoyed reenacting our boat trip back at school today.

In literacy, Year 6 have started the story The arrival by Shaun Tan. We have thought about our concept of belonging and written short burst descriptive passages! #belonging

In maths this week, Year 6 have been thinking about place value and representing our ideas in different ways. We have focussed on our journaling and explaining our thinking!

What a fantastic day out at Barry Island! Year 1 had a great time playing on the beach and learning about beach safety. A special highlight was visiting Zio’s, where they got a behind-the-scenes look at how ice cream is made! 🌊☀️🍦

On Tuesday y6 learnt all about being safe near and at Cardiff Bay.

Year 6 had a wonderful day at the WMC. We were able to use sound and light equipment and even climbed to the rooftop!

Year 1 had a fantastic art workshop in the National Museum in Cardiff. We really enjoyed our day!

Year 3 have been learning about Sustainability. With a focus on D.T skills we worked collaboratively to create these wonderful bug hotels. We sawed, drilled, sanded and safely used lots of tools. You can tell from their smiles how much the children enjoyed it.

Year 3 took time to appreciate new life in the Springtime and reflected on the Easter story. They wrote some very thoughtful prayers.

Year 4 are debating whether apex predators should be reintroduced into the UK. I wonder who will be the most convincing 🤔

Thank you to Fr Dean who came and took us through the stations of the cross in our forest school area. Y6 reflected on how the struggle of Jesus gives us lessons for our life today. #lent

Year 3 had a wonderful time at our Family Engagement morning. We became mini scientists and had our parents in to help us set up our experiments. We explored solid, liquid and gas.

Year 3 enjoyed learning about Stations of the Cross in our beautiful Forest School area this afternoon with Father Dean.

This week Dosbarth Un started designing and building their bug hotels using recycled materials. They have really demonstrated how creative and independent they are through collaboration!

Dosbarth Pedwar have certainly been creative, ethical and enterprising learners this week! We have spent the week designing a hydro electric structure with limited materials and no instructions! Gwaith bendigedig !

What an exciting experience for us all today. Welsh author Clare Donald visited us and read her book ‘Mother Earth is Weeping’. Such an important message- we must care for our world, we are the future and we can make a difference! Year 3 were then inspired during a question and answer session.

Year 3 have enjoyed the independent areas this week, finding out more about Ramadan.

Year 1 enjoyed their PE lesson in the sunshine this week. They practised their football skills and were learning to work as a team. ☀️⚽️

Lots of problem solving in Dosbarth Pedwar this week! Our big questions this week: 1: Where can we put a rain garden? 2: How can we speak clearly and accurately to reach a goal? 🤔

Are senses really important? How does it feel not to have sight? Year 2 children put faith in their friends to lead them around and over obstacles.

Year 6 spent all week preparing for a mock UN debate on the issue of zoos. They looked at whether just because we can have animals in zoos, does it mean we should? It was an incredibly powerful debate!

Welsh Cakes or French Madeleines? Which do you prefer? Year 2 enjoyed making and tasting.
