Dawn light over the High Peaks from Wright Peak on 3/3/26. This was taken at 6:10 AM and the eclipsed moon is very soft in the sky above the distant snow capped peak on the right on the pano.

The eclipsed full 'Worm Moon' at 6:03 this morning, captured one minute before the 6:04 timing of totality. I was watching the various stages of the eclipse as I was snowshoeing up Wright Peak this morning. Weather cooperated to get this photo and a few others, but then disappeared behind clouds.

Sunrise over Lake Champlain yesterday morning. Not the best day to go sailing... Cold does settle into the low elevations. The car thermometer was 8 below in Brant Lake, 6 below in Ticonderoga, and 15 below when I got down to lake level along Lake Champlain.

The sun rose behind a shoulder of Giant this morning, highlighting the Great Range, First and Second Brother, and a shoulder of Big Slide. It was - minus 13 when I left the car at 5 AM, and minus 6 when I got back around 10 AM. I do love winter weather! (as long as I'm comfortable enough! lol)

I headed down to Lake George village this morning, hoping the aurora might pick up again. It didn't, so I thought I'd try getting photos of the Adirondac, that burned in early December. Wishing all the best for Shoreline Cruises and hoping the repairs progress smoothly as the weather cooperates.

Aurora colors behind clouds over Brant Lake at 6:32 last evening, as the storm was building towards a peak where the highest shafts went overhead a few minutes later.

I was hoping for clearer skies and a more active aurora, but between the clouds, and fact the strongest aurora arrived mid afternoon yesterday, I felt good I managed to catch a few short lived shafts in reasonably clear skies around 3:36 this morning.

A Solar Corona (partial) Never knew this phenomena existed! Thanks to my mirrorless camera, I could see this in my viewfinder. Lasted a couple of minutes and then disappeared. It was a pretty cool way to end 2025! HAPPY NEW YEAR! Wishing everyone good health, happiness, peace, and fun adventures!

Urban light pollution Around 4:30 this morning I noticed the short term aurora forecast was showing some potential so I set up and shot a few frames over frozen Brant Lake to see what I might capture. All I got was light pollution on the high clouds that were moving in over the northern Adirondacks.
