Started the morning at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, getting an insightful update from Canada’s new Ambassador, Mark Wiseman.

Deeply saddened by the tragic shooting at a Tim Hortons in our community that took the life of a teenage boy yesterday. This violence has no place here. My thoughts are with the family and everyone affected. We must act urgently on gun violence prevention, youth supports & community safety.
