so I have gone through a lot of CD books this last month or so. and much like when I read I notice that a lot of modern novels flashback too often and for too long. The trend seems to be to set up a premise and then spend scores of pages describing how characters lived before the premise.

Entering the first #holidays season without Mom. I right now do not have anywhere to go for Thanksgiving. That's a little shitty. But a friend of mine has already agreed to spend a few days through Christmas with me which is good news. Between the two, I'd rather have Christmas. #grief

In an enormous win against executive disfunction, I both went to to the gym and applied the first layer of weather proof paint to my porch yesterday, and today I kept a doctor's appointment I did not feel like keeping, and later picked up groceries. #autism

I am pissed at the used car I got recently. Very much needed it, yes, but the CD player that I have listened to so many audio books on since I got it, keeps malfunctioning, and i have no idea how to fix it. I only just started to enjoy this major plus. #audiobooks

Several people have quit the company I work for lately, including my favorite coworker, as I mentioned last week. That may open the door for more hours for me some day, I don't know. But I am not over her departure enough yet to consider any potential pluses.

This year of course, #grief has slowed my output. However even before that, I suspected for a few years that I may have been holding myself to too high a standard for my work. Almost nobody ever reads it or buys it, and that is part of my reluctance too. But that is connected to the same fear.

I am not a perfectionist in most cases. Not even in my #writing, because being one about writing is a great way to never get it done. Ever. That being said, I suspect at times I have written less because I expect as good or better than what it out there, when in many ways it probably already is.

Working a help desk has in many ways, sadly, only confirmed my overall take on humanity as an entitiy. I thought about writing an essay about what I am learning/confirming, but I am sure, even with my #Autistic viewpoint, it has all been said before. Still, it blows me away sometimes.

i thi8nk the key for me to celebrate the #holidays during my #grief year is to make them familiar, but new at he same time. Try different decorations, new music. Do things in different order. Not so as to reject what was...but perhaps to ease into what now must be.

My favorite coworker is quitting the job we both started at roughly the same time this year. I am illogically bummed by this. But it is what it is. She was faster at this job than I am. I learned from her.

The last few months my index finger get periodically stuck in the bend position, and I have to painfully press it back into full extension. My hand is often sore near the bottom of it. Though at first it was how I slept on it, than i thought #arthritis. Now I do not know what to think. #fingers

I have certain #anxiety over clutter. But I am in a transition time in this house, trying to rehouse or get rid of many things. A small unused room is crammed with crap and I hate it. But I have felt better ever since I put "Cargo Bay 1" on the door. Makes it feel like it is supposed to be crammed.

I still have things on cassette, mostly radio plays from the vintage era. Now I have a small player to play them on again.

As for my job, I've had moments of confusion and fluster. But it has slowly begun to straighten. Turns out I am freer to ask for help than I initially thought I was. Not only that, there were certain processes that I was trying to do that were not my job in the first place; I just thought they were.

As I mentioned recently here, I have been writing a bit of poetry most days. I plan to write longer things in the coming months once again. Mom died 6 months ago now, and they do say for many that is the first corner turned in the grief process, where "equilibrium" is seen again on the horizon.

I have been away a bit, because I misplaced my password and was too lazy for about a week there to reset it. (long days at work for a bit.) But as all can see, I am back again.

I got the role of Grumio in the #Shakespeare play Taming of the Shrew. Not one of my top plays I confess, but the moment I auditioned his lines, I somehow knew it was the role I would most enjoy. Now I will play it in January. #acting

I've spent years as a creative, (and unsuccessful marketer/promoter of my creations.) And I have come to believe I would like to inspire, add magic or whimsy to the world or someone's life, more than I would to educate them. Both are the lifeblood or society. But my heart pumps more of the latter.

I bought a new pad lock for a locker at the pool. First one I have owned since high school. Still remember my combo for that one...2-8-26. Actually it was sort of a pain as I recall for the first two numbers to be so damn close after spinning almost a full rotation four times.

I am a straight cisgender man. But that does not explain why I tend to relate better to women, because most encounters are not sexual by nature. It may be an #autism thing, but I have always felt, even professionally, I do better communicating with women then other men.

In the last month or so, i have chosen to write more poetry, in order to "take the heat" off of my writing fiction. I think sometimes writers/artists need to spend time and energy on "secondary" types of creations to give their "main" imagination a rest.
