Sometimes when I pass a car that is the same make and model of my own, I pretend it is me from the future trying to prevent something. And I am successful, so I never know what I prevented.

Unusual friday evening shift instead of Friday afternoon, which is the norm. but for a month or so this is my Fridays. Who knows why, exactly? There is something, though to not having to set an alarm on top of going to work right after.

This prose #poetry collection represents several firsts or me as a poet, not least of which is revision. My whole life I have generally written poems in a single session...draft until final version all at once. Then it is never touched again.

It is driving me crazy that i have a notification on my DMs but there is nothing there...like, go away!

Once again, I have let an ancient to-do list on my dry erase board for so long I will need windex or something to get it off...once I beat executive dysfunction long enough to do it, and use it once again. #asd

I'm not tribal about sports or sports teams. I pretty much let people enjoy watching what they watch. However, there is a certain irksome quality to die hard soccer fans declaring baseball too boring to be a sport. I mean dude, you watch soccer...the only game that can literally end with no score.

I don't love using a phone, but most of the time a customer thanks me for being extra helpful it's after a phone call. I wonder if it's because I do not love it, I am extra focused on getting it right for them, without realizing it...and am particularly clear.

Now that I am committed to publishing a (prose) #poetry collection by the end of summer, I have to run the gauntlet of typing out from my own handwriting, which is a nightmare. (unlike fiction or essays, i always draft poetry by hand. Pencil only.) Just one of my things, I guess.

Maybe it's not great, but there is a different between sticking your head in the sand and denying current events, and realizing there is little you can do right now other than protect your mental health.

Last day of public school here today. For the rest of us, its vacation from being caught behind school buses for a few months.

Threw down 50 cents for a used high school (I think) level geometry review workbook. It was the only math I ever understood in school and I wanted to refresh a bit, so I can still grasp the fundamentals.

It's an "I want to say something but can come up with nothing to say," kind of night.

Exposition is a necessary bane to a writer writing a plot-central narrative. Too much of it, and it is a bore and a distraction. Too little, and the reader lacks proper context. Best to do it quickly, simply, and in a scene that does something else. I just did so for my #spaceopera and am pleased.

When you have Autism with executive dysfunction, plus some burnout from work, getting part of three tasks done is a win, more so than forcing yourself through the entirety of one. I can come back to all of them.

I have been feeling out of sorts as they say today. Which is particularly notable for someone on the Spectrum, as I am always a little off center from the world. But today, off center from myself is the problem. I think too much work plus house work on top. I should do more nothing tomorrow.

This last year I have experimented more with prose-poetry. (I hate that term for it however.)

I don't read footnotes 98% of the time. Incorporate it into your text or leave it alone.

Time is up in the library study room for today. I thought I would get more serious writing done this session. But then I came on here and so much for that. I did play some Star Trek RPG though.

I am annoyed lately that just as pride month started, I misplaced my ALLY button. It feels very much my life that I will step on it and pierce my foot at 12:00AM on July 1. #PrideMonth

I happen to be an average height guy, 5'8ish. I have never dated a woman taller than me, but I would. Of all the things to be insecure about, I have understood that one the least. If feeling secure depends on who is in the room, you probably never were. #tallwomen #securepeople

I keep thinking about buying a whole closet full of the same shirt for the rest of my life so I never have to ponder what to wear, or get annoyed when my preference is in the dirty hamper and needs washed before I leave. But, I probably won't. 😀

All these years, and I am still thrown off by "ty" posted online/message boards, thinking it is about me somehow.

I am not by my nature violent. But IF I ever were, it would probably have something to do with the other party being loud. Like, I can hear you.

Sadly, my adult diognosis opened virtually no doors of support, no matter where I went.

I am not from this area, but the theme is too true to ignore: unless you are Level 3/severe support needs, nobody wants to help an adult with their disability on the Spectrum. It is even worse if you do not "present" as #Autistic. And #Maryland is among the worst states for this.

Tragically, "I love you" is almost as unreliable.

Once AC season is here, (and in Maryland, it is), I tend to leave it on at night even once it cools down outside. It's like I am too used to it by bed time. and I sometimes sleep better when it's a little cold.

I have been invited to a party today at someone's house. It's a wrap party for a presentation I played a small late role in, so it was kind of the host to invite me. I think i shall make some of my banana bread for the occasion.

Well, on my nights off I sometimes like to have a baseball game from the West Coast on into the night. But tonight LA vs LA is a first inning laugher that may end up too lopsided to even be interesting enough to fall asleep to.

I moisturize far more frequently than I used to. Just kind of happened, for the most part.

Over the years I have observed enough to confidently conclude you are probably better, smarter, more talented compared to your daily contemporaries than you think you are. You think you need to be Mozart to be worthy of praise, but you're probably surrounded by mediocrity at best, not genius.

it was been about two months since i discontinued regular blog posts after nearly twenty years and no zero engagement. I have to say I miss the creative expression instantly gratified, but I do not miss all of the planning and brainstorming session to set aside content for the void.

I work in a building sometimes with an art gallery. Met the artist when her exhibit opened, and again today when it closed. She gave me a piece of the exhibit I expressed fascination with. The other pieces she will give to friends. She is leaving the area. but I am glad I met her for a few hours.

i don't hear "Girls Chase Boys Chase Girls" on the radio very much anymore.

Sometimes you want to make a poetic observation. Sometimes you just want to observe literally and tell folks what you noticed. One inspires, one relates, and some of them can do both at the same time.

For certain shifts of my current job, I work the front desk of an arts center. I have always been art-centered, but just being around different disciplines on the periphery has deepened my appreciation of same. Imagine what it would do to increase arts exposure to our communities at large.

My current novel, as I have said, is best classified as a "space opera." But I dislike this term. I understand it is very broad, and I even understand why, by definition, my WIP is under that umbrella. It just doesn't see like the ideal term, idk. #writing #spaceopera

I do not think children-through-teens are as imaginative these days as they were just a single generation ago. I cannot prove it with science, just an observational statement. Happy to be (and hope that I am) wrong.

I am not off work tomorrow. However, it is both an evening shift as well as my favorite venue. (We have more than one campus.) So it is kind of day half-offish.

Dishes are my most "difficult" domestic chore to get started with executive dysfunction. Mowing is the worst one outside. The bak yard is a jungle because of how tired I usually am when there is a day off like today. But the front yard is slowly by surely becoming normal again. #autism

In a reversal of how things often work, a large tree fell over and blocked the street my job is one today, but I had the day off, so it did not effect me. But the four construction zones in less than 15 miles will tomorrow.

When I finally get around executive dysfunction and do the thing, this plays in my head; or was it coming from the clouds above me??

I have been ashamed of NPR for calling it the Trump/Kennedy Center since this whole thing began.

Plenty of things would be scary if they really happened, but as media just are not anything. And sometimes they are not scary in either case. Maybe it is my age, but I find the whole concept of random liminal spaces/backrooms content somewhere between these two right now.

Bought a foam dry erase die from the Dollar Store, and call it my Cube of Indecision. To combat my executive dysfunction I write the next 6 tasks I want to accomplish, roll it, and just do whatever shows up.

I progressing in my cooking skills. I cooked before. then I bought a used copy of The Joy Of Cooking. One day I will read parts of that. And then, in the far future, I will follow one of its recipes. Progress.

In my upcoming mini campaign for my Star Trek solo role play game, I am going to play a Klingon for the first time. I feel like knocking a few heads together without the bureaucracy. #startrek #rpg
