Yesterday @uofcalifornia.bsky.social received systemwide strike notices from @afscme3299.bsky.social and @uptecwa.bsky.social for May 1. It will be the fourth strike since November. A thread 🧵

@uofcalifornia.bsky.social is disappointed that AFSCME and UPTE plan to strike this week. Both unions have chosen to focus their energy on strike preparation and amplifying misinformation rather than negotiating in good faith. A quick thread:

@UofCalifornia and AFSCME met yesterday to continue to try to close a new contract. UC made new offers to AFSCME, including wage increases of 5% in 2025, 4% in 2026, and 3% in 2027, 2028, and 2029.
