One's female, one's male - to the reader I don't think it'd matter too much if they were swapped. I try not to attach importance to it cos that way if someone thinks "that character is trans, actually" I won't write anything that'll disrupt that haha (or at least that's the intent)

You know what I really struggle with. Likening my work to existing works. I can never think of anything. Like, what do you mean a publisher wants to know what TV show I'd compare it to? I wouldn't, TV shows are widely enjoyed by many people, this is just my story I wrote. Dawg #amwriting
