Here are some pictures from last night. You can see what we put in place to film Murray. There were two platforms stuck on the dress circle with camera operators using huge lenses for filming sport. Murray and the band were absolutely phenomenal! Editing starts next week and ends mid-April.

My project is moving along. We recce'd the Olympia yesterday where we will be covering the Murray Head concert 2 weeks. We have agreed all five camera positions. It is such a relief to have seen the room and to know the conditions under which we will be working. I'm very, very excited!

My concert project is moving along. The budget is approved, the crew has been booked and I am going down to Besançon to see rehearsals. I just need a signed contract to make it official. I traded in my A7Siii for this! I will be using it to film on stage during the concert! Very excited!

As the number of followers increases and engagement with my posts dwindles, I will be taking a break from Bluesky. I have been offered the job of making a film of the concert of a respected musician on his 80th birthday at the Olympia, Paris, this March. I will be focusing my time on that. Have fun!

I framed a picture of my daughter which was taken with my Laowa 12mm and printed on A3+ glossy paper with a 5cm border The frame is wood with PVC not glass The frame cost €18 and the print under €2 I lit this picture with my Godox RS60R

Alien snapped in Paris streets. A strange figure was noticed in the streets around St. Germain des Près today. Over 7 feet tall and moving briskly, one coffee drinker got a snap of it (see picture). Last seen arguing for a discount in Muji.

I have a new printer that can do gallery grade prints up to 13" x 19" for €1.50 a print! I dumped the execrable and utterly shitty HP OfficeJet for the Epson ET-8550. ET means Eco Tank, so ink costs plummet... HP: €3000/litre Epson: €140/litre I now have ink in tanks not cartridges! 😋

It's curious, the details in a photo that emerge are often surprising. The fingers on their left hand look strange, and the dog-with-log seems to be missing a leg. The wonders of a 1/20s exposure!.

In France, Christmas is mostly celebrated on the 24th or le Réveillon. Yesterday, we were five for dinner. We ate a delicious meal and drank and laughed a lot.

This morning, I took this picture with my new Laowa 12mm autofocus. I gestured to these Chinese tourists that I wanted to take a group picture. They happily obliged. I'm trying out the Laowa 12mm as a street lens. Keep people in the middle you get loads of background info. #A7iv #laowa12mm

Picton Street Fayre, Bristol Took this with my Laowa 12mm. I recently had an exchange with someone on my timeline about autofocus. He said that with a 12mm the depth of field is such that autofocus is redundant. I disagree. If a subject comes close, the background goes soft. Not so here, though

I'm in England for a week to see family. Today, my brother gave me the Leica that belonged to our dad. It has a 50mm f/2 lens. He bought it in 1937. I knew it was in the family and have often thought about it. Now, it's with me... Me Leica!

My favourite moment from the Cecil Beaton exhibition. A small boy in a pink jacket touches a photo of a glamorous woman in a pink frock. A gallery guard was on hand to swiftly intervene with, "You can't touch that, sir!" Priceless!

Soho in 2025 has changed much since I was an assistant editor in a post-production company back in 1982. Some places never change, like Bar Italia and Maison Bertaux. Also, the Chinese restaurants on Gerrard Street (Chinatown). Prowler - "Are you naughty... or nice?" - is new to me.
