What if we used this money differently? 1/4 💰 A work posted online in July 2024 (arxiv.org/pdf/2407.16551) is making news at the start of 2025. It estimates that globally, a total of $8.968 billion were spent on article processing charges (APCs) for open access between 2019 and 2023.

🌱 A growing community 🌍 Started by three members of the same laboratory (UMR PNCA), the PCI hashtag#Nutrition is now made up of 32 recommenders from a dozen countries with a wide range of expertise in nutrition www.agroparistech.fr/actualites/l...

There are now 19 thematic PCIs but many disciplines remain to be covered! We are therefore making a call for the creation of new thematic PCIs and giving some information on how to start:

🎇 How about adopting Open Science practices as your New Year's resolution? ✊ With PCI Nutrition, and the 17 other PCIs, we are contributing to the evolution of research practices towards an open, rigorous, reproducible and transparent science following a diamond model.

🌍 PCI #Nutrition is made up of 28 recommenders (a role very similar to that of a journal editor) from a dozen countries with a wide range of expertise in nutrition!

🎯 What is our scope ? 1/6 PCI #Nutrition showcase a diverse range of research encompassing various disciplines related to human nutrition. This thematic section aims to offer a comprehensive exploration of nutrition and population health by embracing a wide array of perspectives and methodologies.

We've started to spread the word that PCI #Nutrition is now available to anyone who wants to publish their scientific work in a free publishing model for transparent and open science. #JFN2024
