After production is wrapped on this stuff for Gamehole Con, I'm in limbo with TTRPG contracts. Not actively seeking anything and generally deferring to other talented creators. Might take up some review of other systems, might return to this Miskatonic project I've had floating around for too long.

I love designing new RPG content. I hate transcribing/formatting stat blocks. Anyways, I hope everyone coming to Gamehole Con in October really digs this epic adventure, the capstone for the new Wardens of the Eastern Marches campaign that launches there!

I once ran a streaming game where Matt Lillard was one of my players. Alongside the DDAL admins, Beadle (of Beadle & Grimm's!) explored Undermountain where he was chosen by a sentient ioun stone. This is a copy of the mechanics & lore for that stone!

I've recently picked up an itch to write like mad again. Between a couple projects and my own notes/ongoing thing, I think I'm around 30k words in the last 10 days. That's one benefit of work travel: I hole up in the hotel room and scribble each night.

Oh hot damn. @steamforgedgames.bsky.social is bringing back the Pressgang program for Warmachine - just announced at Adepticon in Milwaukee. Not sure if it will cover their RPG play, but having this program return is HUGE.

Ever been at a game store and had the feeling of "I should buy that pack right there"? Well, sometimes it pays off.

I want to write more, but it's an expensive proposition. People rages against realistic prices for PDFs, scream "PDFs should be FrEe!!", etc. Time is expensive. Art is expensive, be it visual or text. I'm asking myself more and more "is publishing this worth my time?" a lot. Mental health, yo.

I've long looked at the LEGO Harry Potter kits and thought "those are pretty cool" which was immediately followed by "but JK Rowling is a piece of work". Anyways, don't look at aliexpress. Definitely don't look at sets that are like 20% of the original price.

The ENNIES have rescinded the "we'll allow AI" stance they had adopted, which is good. BUT. Why was it permitted in the first place? The ENNIES are to celebrate creators. Human creators. AI isn't a creator, it's a mathematical algorithm. It doesn't create, it extrapolates and expounds.

I'm considering running some Kyuss-themed D&D gamedays. Online games, running through my Kyuss content... and possibly more! Likely kick off in January. Would be weekend games, 6 hour blocks with a break in the middle, online. Not sure that running these at our house is feasible currently, heh.

I've got about 7 hours in on BG3 and I think that's enough for me. I get why people enjoy it, but it's not for me. I may try again with casual multiplayer eventually, but for now it's gone to the ranks of the uninstalled.

Ok, so. I've had 4 TTRPG pitches returned to me because they were "too similar to Baldur's Gate 3" which I've never played. I watched the demo video but turn-based video games just aren't my jam. But, traded some excess RPG stuff for a Steam key so let's see what this is all about, eh?

Normally I write horror things. Worms, big decisions, morals and ethics. But recently? It's all just exhausting. Let's be nice for awhile and maybe I'll get back to inflicting fictional trauma in due time.
