sorry again for the media blackout as im doing a commission and its my only focus at the moment but as soon as it is finished i got some awesome projects to share

well it seems watching anything on YouTube is now impossible as it’s dumping adds on me every 3 minutes what a fucking joke

another project i will be making soon but i need to make some of the parts myself so i will have to learn how to use blender

after some thinking i have decided that after my current commission i will be making a better version of my necronomicon ex mortis, i did want to put animatronics in it to make the face move but i think it may be too difficult and i dont want the front cover too thick

nothing beats the smell of minis/models getting a bath in pure dettol lol hopefully the model im painting will be mostly paint free by tomorrow and yes you can use dettol as a paint stripper for acrylic and spray paint (depending on what spray you use) and it doesn’t seem to harm plastic models

the worst thing a model painter can encounter is when it’s raining outside so the air moisture screws the primer spray 🤬🤬😡

this is a first lol i ran a print while i was sleeping and now the room stinks of resin so for the first time ive had to switch on my extraction fan

i just made an abomination of an led circuit lol not surprised it burned out two leds lololol

definitely strange using my old 3d printer now lol especially since ive be using one that’s waaay bigger, tbh im seriously amazed that i’ve managed to print the large models i have printed using such a tiny build plate

currently working on a large commission so if i go dark for a couple of weeks that’s the reason

ash is finally finished

the last wall section is 7 hours from completion so hopefully by tomorrow night i should have it finished if i can get some more of the primer i use

another update, unfortunately the price of this stuff has gone up and now i printing the second print the smell is nearly overwhelming, it’s not the worst smell ever but definitely not great lol so i’ll probably go back to using their standard resin

well other than the smell this stuff did the trick and with what seems to be less warping on flat surfaces so i think i might get more

never thought i’d use this stuff but im really itching to finish the evil dead model so here goes my first time using a water washable resin lol i will report back once my first print is finished

i still got a very way to go as i still have one floor part as well as 3 wall parts and a window to print and paint and normally i would wait and paint it as one thing but unfortunately i keep snapping ash’s chainsaw blade so now it should be safer

the second base part made it but barely lol the vat had about 2mm of resin left lol so hopefully later today i will paint it up but then i will have to wait 4 days until i get a new batch of resin and cleaning materials

im on my last bit of resin that didnt even get to half way on my vat so its a 50/50 bet if the second part of the base will print or not but in at least 3-4 hours i will find out 🤣🤣

finished the base plate for the deer as i forgot to add it to the decoration file lolol so all got do do now is the logo and clock then onto the 6 base parts and hope to smeg my resin alt lest lasts until i finish the three floor parts

i got 2 more decoration parts left to my evil dead 2 model then it’s on to the 7 parts for the base but i might have to wait until next week as im running out of resin and alcohol and need to buy more

ash is coming along nicely just need to add a little more highlights a few little shadows and then the blood effects, it’s a pity my phone doesn’t pick up all the different skin tones but i hope when i finish the hair and shirt ot will look a lot better

update- after a rocky start with wrong settings i can now safely say that my printer is working perfectly as i just finished a 9 hour print with whay looks to be zero errors, i have it in the cleaning machine at the moment but from what i see it’s perfect

the thing i hate most about painting well known or detailed characters especially if it’s old is finding decent screenshots of the characters in movies, thankfully i found hoid ones for the evil dead 2 film but his blood makeup is different in every picture lolol

after 5 long years of service my wash a cure machines plastic agitator has finally disintegrated and unfortunately there are no replacements….so i cobbled together a ghetto assed agitator out of a bit of plastic card i had laying around as well as some screws lololol

third attempt at printing this head and i have made sure to use the settings that have worked so fingers crossed but seriously if it doesn’t im going to throw this printer in the bin

no wonder this plus the new one failed lychee reverted back to my printers default settings so now i gotta reslice 11files but thankfully i save them this time

unfortunately on closer inspection not only the head had errors but one of the arms as well but hopefully ive supported the chin and have only the head and one arm on the build plate so fingers crossed

yup not enough drainage holes and not enough support but no worries live and learn

unfortunately his head didn’t make it, technically it printed but there’s a massive gap in the neck but i suspect there was too much suction on the fep and the chin area didn’t have enough support

doing the supports for the first section of the wall anddamn it’s a support nightmare

this will be the true test for my printer as i have seriously no idea if it will be successful as it extremely detailed with textures on every part so fingers crossed

my next project will be this and damn ive been waiting for a very long time to print something like this lol but in all this is a test print to make sure my printer is capable of the detail as well as to make absolutely sure my settings are near perfect for a commission that comes after

other than a bit of damage due to removal of the supports this base printed with pretty much no issues except a lil bridging effect between the supports( lil bumps on the edges) but it’s definitely not as bad as previous prints even on my old machine so now i can safely say it’s printing properly

i have started the base to the lust model and i hope to heck that with all the setting changes and the realignment of the build plate arm it will come out at least with minimal problems fingers crossed

Eurika!!! finger’s crossed i have solved my printer problem, i turns out that the arm that i attach my build plate to was out of alignment to the right, i will have to try printing a larger part but so far my last print came out perfect

on further inspection the lines are nowhere as deep as the previous print so im definitely on the right track im gonna try increasing the lift distance and replacing my fep film as well as getting a whole new batch of resin as my current resin has a problem with the pigment separating

the new print settings are much better but im still getting the large lines on the support/build plate side of the print

the next model that i will be printing and i hope to smeg that the new settings work as i’ve slowed ehe printing process down quite a bit so fingers crossed
