Currently using #Obsidian for: - collecting my thoughts and ideas - saving important knowledge and information - writing things such as my blog and monthly mail updates. My two most important folder, /Zettelkasten and /Projects use a bottom-up approach.

Have been using #Obsidian as my main note-taking tool for more than 3 years now, and I still love it! So many things I prefer over other note-taking apps, especially the file over app approach using markdown files. With my latest post about using Obsidian I have now written 10 in depth posts!

Rebuilt the end-of-post section for my blog. Took much longer than I expected. Tried AI tools like Copilot and Claude Code, which are definitely helpful, but still decided to rewrite the HTML & CSS from scratch since anything generated was messy. Any ideas on how to improve the design?

Always wondering if it's even worth posting on #BlueSky. It's like a black hole for anything I put on here. I don't want to stick to posting only one keyword either, but the algorithm isn't doing me any favors. Slightly educational or "productivity" content does much better elsewhere for me.

Today's learnings using #Obsidian: Bases are very useful: - They can be used within a note - It's possible to set a limit on how many results are shown - Can display amount of backlinks using a formula, which is just file.backlinks.length - Can sort based on amount of backlinks

Have been using #Obsidian for a lot of stuff. And now Obsidian #Bases is finally out! My experience so far has been great. It can definitely replace the "Projects" plugin for me, maybe the "Dataview" plugin as well? Hope it can rival Notion Databases in the future, e.g. by adding a Kanban view.

Can #Obsidian replace Word or LaTeX for a #thesis? I tried, but how far can Markdown + the Longform plugin + Zotero take you? Published as a new post on my blog :)

More progress on my self-tracking app. Starting pop-up that explains what this app even is. Building with SvelteKit & Capacitor has been great so far. Will have to do MVP user testing in the next 2 days, then analyze my findings and finish up my bachelor thesis until the end of this week.

Streak counter added. Working on my habit tracker / journaling / health logging app. Need to get it into a MVP state until end of this week, then do user testing, and then finish up my bachelor thesis on it.

Built a timer tool for myself to focus better. Helps me with time-boxing. Added some smaller improvements today.

Made a gaming backlog in Obsidian and updated my post on how to do this as well. You can use this to make collection for any type of content, I also use it for books.

Updating the tech-stack behind my ToLearnKorean page. Using Astro Starlight now. Next up is writing more chapters, currently it just contains chapters on Hangul and how to use Anki to learn Korean.

Building a web app to learn Korean words. Inspired by: - Anki but not as dry & better ease-in - Gamified language learnings apps, but user-friendly, simplified and focused

I built a flow timer website. It helps me focus on tasks and get things done. Using a time-boxing approach. Define name + length of each task and start the timer. Then it counts down and shows which task is currently active. Get a notification at the end of each phase.

Made a Astro Starter Template today with all the things I usually do at the start of every Astro web project: CSS files, base layout, <head> stuff, sitemap, footer and header component.

Didn't find out about the new ChatGPT Canvas feature until today, and it's great. In this view there's a continuous document which ChatGPT can work on. Web Search for ChatGPT has often been helpful, combined with the Projects function to provide underlying information it's very powerful.

Surprised that there aren't any good component libraries based on just HTML and CSS. Would love to be able to (almost) copy in components that use my existing CSS variables without being dependant long-term on some other project. Enjoying using Astro and SvelteKit with just my own CSS.

Every time I use BlueSky I'm surprised by how many basic features are missing. Couldn't even upload videos the last time I used it. Would have liked to bookmark some posts right now, but that's also not possible. But it seems to be growing well for some communities?

Remaking the landing page for my personal website. Cleaning it up a bit and improving the overview by adding headings. Was thinking of adding a fourth row but that made it too overloaded, replaced it with a more subtle button now. Working on an old project shows me how much better my code got.

Got speechSynthesis working! Whenever you click a Korean card it pronounces it for you. But it's still buggy if your browser doesn't have a Korean voice pack and the default fallback I currently have doesn't seem to work.

A simple way to make an Android and iOS app from one code base is by using CapacitorJS. Just build a website with HTML & CSS and turn it into a "native" app with Capacitor.

There are 3 main ways to create a website: 1️⃣ Website Builders (example: Wix, Squarespace) 2️⃣ Content Management Systems (example: WordPress) 3️⃣ Custom Development With each step down the complexity and amount of work needed increases but you also gain more control and freedom.

Spent today on the design of the favicon & logo. Kept iterating, found myself caught between two challenges: achieving readability at a small scale and preventing it from appearing too bland when scaled up. What do you think of the final design? Check out picture 3! ✨
