#fungifriends from today's morning mudlarking adventure! the dew and light on the first one makes me think of Lady Gladriel.

Some #fungifriends from the past week! It's been so dry this summer that I stopped keeping an eye out for fugi and was so startled and thrilled to see these guys. I'm excited to find more cuties after all the rain we had this week!

The mudlarking adventure started as a quest to get a good angle of the ship and the bridge. Not thrilled with my shots, so trying again tomorrow morning with proper shoes and also a bag so I can collect more treasures and pick up some trash.

Did some improptu Mississippi River mudlarking this morning! The river is low enough that this gravel bar is accessible and I couldn't resist having a look. The river blessed me with a marble and an intact bottle, and I picked up the soccer ball and left it on a bench for someone else to have.

To the neighbor that mowed the small patch of grass I was letting grow up for insects and small wildlife, may you have the day you deserve. It was a maybe 10x10ft patch in the middle of my back yard surrounding an old in-ground burn pit.

It has felt like fall the past week in Southeast Missouri and it actually looks like it this weekend! Monarch migration and pops of fall color here and there means that my favorite season is almost here!

A phone call with Grandma and an adventure in the creek won't fix all of my problems, but it definitely helped me feel better.

I know not what I photograph, I just snap if it looks cool and sits still long enough for me to get it in focus. My goblin brain goes "ooh, neat! Gotta collect it!" but has little interest in researching or identifying them, and my ADHD brain dumps facts as fast as I can learn them.
