Our next stream together is going to be slightly different than normal. We are going to be piloting our first Gym Leader challenge. The first part of the stream will be yapping and figuring out rules, then we will text out the ruleset to see what changes we might need to make.

I am desperately trying to find a more consistent answer to Red for slower Pokémon. Especially physical attackers. There are several runs where the Pokémon is on a fantastic pace up until Red, then they play the RNG game until finally getting lucky.

I'm live playing Cinccino only in Pokémon Crystal!

I am very pleased to say that all of October's Challenge Run videos are now rendering - we have 13 Challenge Runs together throughout October, including some Pokémon who could sit at the very top of the leaderboard!

Big progress has been made with the pre recorded videos today. 5/12 edits for October are done and I've coded the remaining backports for the year. I'm hoping to have all of the 2025 challenge runs recorded by the end of October so I can hibernate for winter.

It's a very, very minute detail, and something that most people won't notice. I'm bringing back the custom backgrounds for each Pokémon's thumbnail I fell out of the habit of it when I started focusing on backports, as they shared a common background but they're included now Here are some examples

I've got another line to add to the backport collection - the Vespiquen line! This one is likely gonna be very tricky when it gets its run. Combee isn't built for battling, and loses its speed upon evolving into Vespiquen! Fun fact: You can't get a legit Gen 2 shiny Vespiquen!

I'm already stressing about the first challenge I'm recording tomorrow. It's a redo of a very, very strong Pokémon, and I really want to PB with it. I'm currently playing very well, but the routing I'll need to take to get a PB requires a few risky battles. Only time will tell whether I succeed.

Another Gen III backport can be crossed off the list! This time, in the form of the Aggron line. It's been hotly requested, so I'm very glad to get it done. It's a physical powerhouse, which will be great, right up until Red.

We can add another Gen III line to the completed backport list. This time it's the turn of Baltoy and Claydol. I've never really had much exposure to these lines, so I'm very interested in seeing how they play at some point!

I've just re-backported Dudnsparce after 18 months. I love seeing the difference in learnsets when I bring a backport up to date - it's a real indicator of how much more skilled I've become with the Gen 2 code. The original learnset was good for its day, but I think I prefer the new one :D

I've spent a good portion of today updating unplayed backports: They include: - Flygon - Salamence - Walking Wake - Raging Bolt - Gouging Fire - Magnezone - Sandy Shocks I'm still focusing on the Gen 3 backports, but these ones will be fun to play together!

This is a bit of an outreach post: I'm a Pokémon Crystal ROM Hacker and Challenge Run creator on YouTube. Part of my work is creating backports - taking Pokémon from Gen III onwards and converting them down to Pokémon Crystal - complete with moves and some abilities.

This one trainer, and more specifically his teeny yellow rat has caused more minced oaths on stream than anything else put together! Charm is EVIL when you're running a slow Physical Attacker!

I may be jumping on the bandwagon here, but I always enjoy backporting Pokémon into Pokémon Crystal. Here's Malamar. 99% complete with learnset - the only duff move is Pluck because I ran out of space. I'm always open to requests and suggestions too, especially if they're fun to play.

I've been working on a little something for the card pack openings on stream - they're now linked directly to my website, so you're able to check your packs without having to rely on the grid that displays on screen! I've also added Gen IV into the mix, along with guaranteed Rare/Epic packs.

Next week, we take on one of our biggest challenges yet in Pokémon Crystal. A Hardcore Nuzlocke, but if a single Pokémon faints, the challenge is lost. This took several months to record a successful run, and I am SO excited to share it with you all!

I'm not posting this publicly anywhere else yet. The next hardcore Nuzlocke is coming out on 27th December, and this time it's going to be the Fire type. It's definitely harder than the Water Nuzlocke, and I think it's got a lot of fun twists and turns!

I think I've just had the most thrilling Gym Battle since launching the YouTube channel. It's going to be in the a Monolocke coming out within the next couple of weeks. It was a Gym Leader who had the potential to wipe out our team, but we got through with zero losses!
