We put together a bunch of data and wrote an interesting thing about where immigrants are living and how the GTA is voting over the past 80 years. Take a look

I'm not sure there's much more than a Kopi O kosong at a Singapore coffee shop in the muggy heat.

Meandered my way through this meander of a book. I think Murakami's work tends to variations of similar themes; not necessarily a bad thing, since it can be a nice, chill place to be.

Historical fiction and a love story. Edge of my seat the entire second half. Really enjoy Janie Chang's work.

Snow day at the gym, trying out the video thing. Easy 11-, small finger and toes, fairly straightforward stuff. The pink 11+ was much more interesting but I wasn't thinking about taking a video then.

5+k, -7°c, windy, cold, felt like a bit of a slog. Valley still my happy place though.

5km, -6°c, low wind, packed snow in the trails, which was nice; a couple icy spots, not so nice; street into the valley gross and muddy. Gorgeous inside the valley though.

BEFORE THE COFFEE GETS COLD - I kept hearing about these little cosy Japanese stories that I think were kick-started by this one and managed to get my hands on it. The first chapter was rough as I had an instant dislike for the characters but things got better afterwards.

I've been enjoying over the last 5+ years. LITTLE SHREW is such a sweet little piece, with 3 gorgeously illustrated stories of a lovely and simple little life. One can dream.

Was pretty relaxed getting through the first book of 2025. Finished this in late January. Several exciting and absorbing moments interspersed with ploddy stuff. Still pleased to get through the main canon.

I've really enjoyed every Silvia Moreno-Garcia I've read, and this was fun as hell. Tracking down HG Wells's The Island of Dr Moreau now, but I'll say I kept picturing Val Kilmer. #2024reads

DENISON AVENUE / Christina Wong - beautiful, lyrical, heartbreaking. Strong feelings about the way my specific broken-Mandonese-speaking immigrant Southeast Asian Chineseness brings its own changes to Chinatown.

Heard that this inspired HP Lovecraft and Terry Pratchett. The first half had me, not gonna lie. The second half was a full-on ego-death mushroom trip. Intense. #2023reads
