Two legendary musicians left us on this day, Ginger Baker in 2019 and Eddie Van Haken a year later in 2020. Rest easy fellas.

I saw the new drummer Anika Nilles a few years ago drumming for Jeff Beck and she and bassist Rhonda Smith were a formidable rhythm section. That said, she’s got the toughest of shoes to fill.

Morning all … Starting today with some a couple of George’s best. Off to Barcelona for the day - an 80 minute each way train journey along the coast with a return ticket costing less than £11. Shame the UK doesn’t make rail travel more affordable.

A David Crosby morning …

Moving swiftly on … Pre-football calmer. #COYG

For me, the single greatest moment of this album is the nod and final wave goodbye to Peter Gabriel in the concise, but hugely poignant lyrics of Los Endos.

Pre-dinner beach walk listening to my favourite album by my favourite band. When PG left I feared that was the end and was therefore dumbstruck when I heard this. PC deserves enormous credit for stepping out from behind the drum kit. One of the best albums ever recorded. 6 ⭐️

Now playing … A superb album from start to finish and such a monumental achievement for the band given the background.

This afternoon’s listening … Four tremendous albums to kick-start Steve solo career. I don’t think he’s bettered any of them since, but plenty of time left hopefully 🤞
