The RootED pilot programme in Ellesmere Port provided vital one-to-one mentoring across three secondary schools to young people at risk of school exclusion. One of the young people supported through the programme said, “My Programme Lead helped me find [my confidence]."

25% of 15-year-olds in the UK report low wellbeing—a worrying figure that’s closely linked to the rise in Emotionally Based School Avoidance, where a young person’s wellbeing is so low that this presents a barrier to accessing education.
