Lost Victorian City - a London disappeared. A fascinating exhibition at The London Archives in deepest Islington. This is a picture of the Royal Aquarium since replaced by the Methodist Central Hall in 1903.

For some of us it is hard to describe how we no longer belong to the only place we can call home.

The first time I remember visiting a Convent. I love a cloisters.

I remember the first time I visited Osborne House when I was still a child. I have enjoyed seeing Les Miserables performed in the grounds since and seen it in "Mrs Brown". It was a pleasure to take some foreign guests there this year.

It's got to a point where I came away thinking a WSL crowd which matched the eighth best attended Premier League team (Aston Villa) is disappointing...

The Countess Dowager of Derby and her husband. The best book I have found about her is still "A woman of influence" by Vanessa Wilkie, although Ms Wilkie does not seem aware that part of the Countess's former home still remains standing.

I indicated that I am a supporter of women's football. The scarf I am wearing dates back to before 2017, when my team's name changed from Arsenal ladies to Arsenal Women. My team first won this cup in 2011. This photo was taken after the 7th time in 2024. Season starts: 22/9/24.

The Guildhall statues of the gods Gog and Magog in honour of a medieval legend involving the Emperor Diocletian. The original statues were constructed during the reign of Henry V, the most recent statues were carved in 1953 and gifted to the City to replace the statues destroyed in December 1940.
