Earlier today, JACL staff joined members of the Congressional Tri-Caucus and other caucuses in a press conference outside of ICE headquarters in Washington, D.C., calling for an end to the ongoing violent actions of ICE agents and the removal of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.

JACL joins the Minneapolis community and countless other communities, organizations, and individuals in mourning the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. We also join in the collective outrage over their deaths at the hands of federal agents. We must take action.

JACL is deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Marsha Aizumi late last week. A dear friend and supporter of many within JACL, especially in the SoCal and LA area, Marsha was a true leader and ally not just within the JA community but also the LGBTQIA+ community.

Do you know the history of Fort Bliss? A former internment camp, used to detain Issei in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, is now being reused as the nation's largest detention facility.
