Turns out it’s actually 30 years since I started doing 3d modeling at the ripe ol’ age of 9 in Macromedia Extreme 3D, which we got for free with a PC magazine. This is seemingly the only screenshot of the windows version on the internet. Good times. I also feel very old.

i am once again trying to make my brain process blender. undoing 25 years of 3ds max muscle memory is once again the biggest obstacle. it was nice to find the quad view option though. it doesn't seem quite as flexible as max's, but it feels a bit more like home.

Being an artist with #aphantasia is very silly. there’s no feeling, no mood, no ‘vibe’. It’s years of built up knowledge and brute force. Consistency is fleeting. the process is a checklist. Style is found by enforced limitations based on preferences. But boy howdy, I do really love doing it.

Putting the free bootlego UCS falcon on its stand is an experience that can only be described as harrowing.

*gasp* I think it is, in fact, a misprint. I also can’t find any other pictures of the Chiang spine, official or otherwise, to compare, so my conspiracy theory is that they’re *all* misprinted and everyone’s hiding the spines.

In the midst of all my dissolving last year I had completely missed that this had come out. Doug Chiang’s stuff on Episode 1 is probably the earliest memory I have of a thing that actively made me want to draw as a kid, so I’m very glad I didn’t miss out on grabbing this. (Also, lord is it heavy)

I’ve had an ongoing pain in my right hip/abdomen for like 3 years. Dr’s have thought it could be everything from bowel issues to my appendix to a cyst or muscle/joint issues. They’ve never been able to find the cause. 3 days ago I started doing 30 minute resting squats. The pain was gone on day 2.
