Another mystery commission finished, this time it’s #CrashBandicoot for a regular on my discord. And this is a prime time to let you know that sometimes with these mystery commissions I go rogue and just add backgrounds and extra things, which makes them even more of a sale.

haven’t tested it yet, but the keyboard all went together okay. Very solid. Though I did make the executive decision to not install the per-key led’s just yet (or ever), because good lord they are so small and I don’t think my hands can solder the 300 separate connections without stuffing it up.

Flight simulator is a blast in VR, though I do sometimes lose track of where I’m going. I was so focused on going through that one building, that I missed that the two buildings next it were in fact *one* building.

B’day present for myself this year was a kit to (hopefully) build a custom 75-key ortho macro keyboard for @getplasticity.bsky.social I’ve got some led’s coming as well that I will have to solder on 😬, and I get to try and do diy dye-sub labels on the keys as well. Should be fun. Or a nightmare.

Still messing about with 3d printing figures... The issue with pla ball joints is that they loosen over time. So I've managed to make a very small version of a ball joint with an adjustable grub screw that pushes on a plate inside the socket that lets you tighten/loosen/lock the joint at will.

i was curious how much faster my prusa mini is now after the updates, so i loaded up a chunky part of my failed/abandoned CNC machine which previously took 12.5 hrs to print. It would only take 7hrs 20 mins now. it would seem the speed updates + organic supports make a world of difference.

It didn’t work. But it didn’t work in a good way because one of the joints broke and I realised that it’s almost the perfect size to house an M3 hex screw thus reinforcing the joint. None of the ball joints worked though, these are all just stuck together with blutack.

well, I'm absolutely winging this, and I have no idea what I'm doing, but it sorta looks cool, and maybe it'll work?

Haven’t switched this on in over 2 years…and it was sitting, filament exposed, in the room where the ceiling leaked. there’s almost no chance it still works properly, right?

it was about 4 hours of work to get this whole back assembly done, but once again @getplasticity.bsky.social made it feel like a breeze.

Our back fence has been very broken for years. One post rotted and snapped off at the ground, and every panel had come off their posts and was being held on by wire. I fixed it. Mostly.

Took several failed attempts, but I think the main part of the grip is on it’s way.

Turns out it’s actually 30 years since I started doing 3d modeling at the ripe ol’ age of 9 in Macromedia Extreme 3D, which we got for free with a PC magazine. This is seemingly the only screenshot of the windows version on the internet. Good times. I also feel very old.

i am once again trying to make my brain process blender. undoing 25 years of 3ds max muscle memory is once again the biggest obstacle. it was nice to find the quad view option though. it doesn't seem quite as flexible as max's, but it feels a bit more like home.
