There was a lot of Americans in the village. One particular one sat a few tables away, head to toe in Open merchandise like some golf full kit wanker was loudly banging on about COLLLONNNIAAAALLLl!! and COLLONNNNIAAAALIIIISSMMMM!! No idea what context . We rolled our eyes and carried on supping.

Despite the hordes of back packing badly dressed golf goers milling around Birkdale, I think it’ll be rude not to reserve a table, and pop into the Village on my day off , for a cheese platter at the cheese shop. 😀👍

Been a long hot 10 hours at work today. They’re all out. No plancha tonight. 👍😀

The plancha. Lime chilli ginger chicken, Harissa, honey lemon asparagus, corn ont’ cob. Tommytartoes in assorted colours drizzled witn Puglia extra virgin olive oil and sea salt. 👍😀

Went into village to get some veg for tonight’s plancha, had a pint, met a mate, had three, realised it was 4:05 and grocer shuts at 4:00. Luckily he’s a decent sort and let me get the veg as he was closing. Jumped on train one stop with me OAP pass. Life’s great. All’s well that ends well. 😀👍

Morning. 8am haircut done. Followed by a rather enjoyable sunny Vespa razz along prom and up and down coast road afterwards. Now it’s bacon and black toasty time. I’m enjoying our new Southern European summer climate immensely. 😎👍

Right. It’s a perfect evening for heading up to the Clitheroe/Pendle Witch badlands on the moped with a stop off at The Swan With Two Necks for our tea. 👍😀

The only one good thing about The Open coming to Birkdale is that Sefton Council are finally clearing the weeds growing out the road sides, and gutting the grass verges along my road. It’s amazing what a bit of world wide television coverage will do. Week on Sunday everyone will have fucked off! 🕺🖕

Morning. And so begins my “long weekend” before back in work on Saturday. I do love shift work.. sometimes. 😀👍

The last thing I needed after being up most of the night, is going onto a late shift and having to bail out a bloody flood in a very hot plant room. Anyways I worked like a cart horse and now just having 5 mins chill time.

Morning. One has quickly fully recovered from the tribulations of the last working week. A quick 30 mins kettlebell HIIT workout has seen me right. Time for two soft boiled chucky eggs accompanied by a buttered platoon of toasty soldiers. 👍😀

That was a long week. 4:45 alarm wake ups Monday to Friday. Straight over to Oblong after work to see my Mum and loading her up with goodies to last her for the next few days. I’m too tired to eat. I’ll be in bed for 9pm and I don’t give a f%$k!! 😀👍

Well it’s been a very good year for my cherry crop. Bagged up ready to make cherry jam, and a few loose for my clan to have on their yoghurts. . The tree of life still has a few more left ripening nicely. 👍😀
