Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed the Science show - ‘Abbie Ayre and the Shed of Science’. It was a really engaging show which taught the children about air pollution and what we can do to help the environment. #SAPSSTEM

We’ve loved taking part in the @cardiffuni.bsky.social ‘Expanding Horizons’ project over the past few weeks. It’s really challenged our mathematical thinking 🤔💭

5AO have loved taking care of Turbo this week! Their responsibilities have included cleaning his space 🧼 , feeding him 🥗and giving him lots of cuddles🌟

This week we visited Big Pit. We started with a workshop where we pulled trams filled with coal. This then followed with a virtual King Coal experience. We finished with a surface tour and learnt about the equipment they needed to work in the mine with. We even got to see the canaries!🌟

As part of our ‘Cymry Cryf’ project, we loved our visit from Mewn Cymeriad where we were able to learn lots more about the inspirational Betty Campbell to help us to write our biographies about her life 🌟 #SAPSHUM

In preparation for making our clay groggs next week, we loved exploring and experimenting with the clay this week. We learnt how to score and slip to join two pieces of clay together and started to think about how we could manipulate the clay to show our unique features 🤎🤍 #SAPSEA

5NW and 5AO loved our visit from Cynefin Pamoja this morning. We thought about what makes a community and how we all belong together at St. Andrew’s. Our learners were so respectful and asked lots of thought-provoking questions 🤎🤍

5NW showed excellent communication and teamwork skills during their Commando Joe’s mission. They had to transport goods across the boat, without dropping any or stepping on the guttering. Mission completed successfully! ⭐️

What a perfect start to our Cymry Cryf project 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. We interviewed a miner and experimented with charcoal to create pictures based on Welsh landscapes.

5NW loved their second lesson with Gwent Music. We learnt how to put together the pBuzz and how to hold it correctly. We also learnt how to play the D note in fourth position. #AOLEEA

5AO have loved learning about Islamic weddings this week. They took part in a listening and responding activity and then created their own 8 beat dance routine to traditional Islamic music 🎶🌟 #SAPSEA #SAPSEIC
