Finished up and based a full regiment of #Beastmen Gors for #Warhammer #TheOldWorld. Think I’ve also personally improved my basing ability.

At the pre-painting and sub-assembly stage of a Forgefiend. Basically, this means I’ve random bits lying around all over and around my hobby desk.

Was trying to clip some small parts off a resin model I’d 3D printed. Bits pinged off at incredible speed. Alarming stuff! I wound up clipping the others off one-handed, with the other hand up to protect my face.

Played a bit of #Warhammer #TheOldWorld the other week. I love the horde style of the beastmen!

Man, I don’t know what it is with these Eightbound, but it just feels like it’s taking an age to even get them base coated. Pressing on, but it’s hard going!

Much more of a ‘Want’ than a ‘Need’ I’ll be the first to admit, but I just fancied it!

Preparing for a 1k game of #Warhammer #40k tonight and have made the harsh-but-necessary decision to bench my Helbrute. This goofy guy has a 100% track record of getting one-shotted off the table in my games, so he has to go - Khorne would never tolerate such weakness! 😀

Been building some models for my #WorldEaters #40k force. Six of the Eightbound and a Maulerfiend all assembled and ready for priming.

A great look into a hobbyists’ project decisions, touching on practical stuff like what they can afford to buy; plus lore-based decisions. A refreshing change from optimised lists for maximum power, when somebody just chooses something because it’s thematically fitting. 🫡

With the Beastmen Arcane Journal drawing close for The Old World, I thought I’d assemble my army collection for the first time. Quite a good horse, I feel! 🐐

Bit of book-buying for hobby options. Hopefully it leads to some fun stuff!

#Hobbystreak day 7 and I think he’s done! I haven’t been this pleased/exhausted with a big model since I did a Stardrake. 🙂

#Hobbystreak day 6 and I’m almost there - just the glowing sword blade to go! Building up from white to red, but so far I’ve only yellow and orange on. Model is also upside-down to let it dry without the paint pooling in odd places, and keep it tending to the tip of the blade.

#Hobbystreak day 4 & 5 and I’ve suddenly been seized by an urge to get Angron over the line. Highlights, detailing, and all that. Now at that point where you seem to have about five paints on the go at once.

#Hobbystreak day 3 and it’s game night at the club! My world eaters went up against the Blood Angels and lost. Mind you, we both treated it as a learning game and my two big takeaways are a) learn the secondaries far better; and b) don’t concentrate two good units in the same area.

#Hobbystreak day 2. I felt like building a model for a change, so I’ve started assembling my maulerfiend. My hope is that between him and Angron I can greatly increase the high damage output of my army, which I think I may have inadvertently underpowered before now.

#Hobbystreak day 2. Detailed up Angron with a bit more highlighting, but was cheered by the thought that he is largely done save for special areas like the base, the sword blade, etc.

#Hobbystreak day 1. Angron is getting based up (at the angry stage of painting now, as this guy has outstayed his welcome) and also pondering miniatures for Saga #HYW Medieval. I like the foundry miniatures ones, but are they too short to pair up with the Perry miniatures plastics? 🤔

#Hobbystreak came to an end last night when I fell asleep. Day 28 though, Angron is nearly done and I finished up on Thursday by playing a game of 40K!

#Hobbystreak days 24 & 25. Wings highlighted with some grey and the skin being slowly buffed up.

#Hobbystreak days 22 & 23 over the weekend. Got the metal highlighting done on the armour which makes it look much more brassy. Also started highlighting the wings, but may have been a bit too hesitant with that. Will redo shortly!

#Hobbystreak day 21! It’s a biggie, as I finally get some shading on Angron and he looks much the better for it!

#Hobbystreak days 18 & 20. Been doing some minor Angron tidying, but also decided to get a book on some historical gaming - so I’ve been reading up on that, checking rules, pricing models, etc.

#Hobbystreak day 18. Decided to keep going with the bestigors. (Seriously, why is everything seemingly at the basecoating stage?) 🙂

#Hobbystreak day 17. Time to give Angron a break, so I’ve switched to my Old World Beastmen army, to paint a few more Bestigor.

#Hobbystreak days 14-16. Kept active through the weekend, but feels I have little to show for it! Angron is yet again on the table, and is nearly fully basecoated. It’s that awkward stage where lots of time is spent tidying up little messy details which barely show in the full picture.

#Hobbystreak day 13. My game last night had to be cancelled last-minute due to Illness (not me.) Not to mind, as I used my unexpectedly free evening to progress Angron. Nearly all the base-coating complete by now!

#Hobbystreak day 12 and I’m all prepped for my 1700-pt game tonight! Trusting in lots of Berzerkers and Eightbound to do the work, as my maulerfiend is still awaiting construction.

#Hobbystreak days 10 and 11 have seen me active in preparing for a game on Thursday, checking up on rules and prepping an army list. Not painting or modelling, but it was nice to get out all the models and do a full inventory. 🙂

#Hobbystreak day 9. Back on Angron, back on the basecoats. Leadbelcher this time, for the metal bits.

#Hobbystreak day 8. Parked Angron after a week of painting to do some building. Three Eightbound constructed!

#Hobbystreak day 7. Some tidying up but nothing much else. However: it’s been a week now, and angron is looking much improved over the primed model that spent six months on a shelf untouched!

#Hobbystreak day 6. Finally, onto my third paint! (This may actually mean he’s technically ‘tournament legal’)

#Hobbystreak day 5. I swear this model is growing extra details to keep me stuck painting black. Whenever I think I’m done, I spot a new cable, strap, claw, or similar!

#Hobbystreak day 4. I was out for most of yesterday for work, but despite coming back late I managed to keep the streak going. Both wings done!

Got some vouchers to spend on #miniatures for Christmas, and carefully curated a basket to just under the voucher total. Only to learn you need to spend slightly over the total to activate the voucher, which has completely sunk all my plans!
