the strongest images make a bold initial impression, but keep subtle details that reward viewers who spend more time with the piece. it’s what I strive for in all of my work. which makes more minimalist pieces even more challenging to make compelling.

there is something so satisfying to me about creating images in camera. crafting the work in reality and then capturing my view of it. most of my personal work is created this way. in camera using photographic and lighting techniques.

Inversion is a long term project of mine. I create one of each person I photograph. the end goal is to create a large wall of images displaying a large range of bodily diversity. the images are created in camera using just lighting and are un-retouched, letting the bodies be as they are.

lately I have been very into motion blur and shutter drag. the feelings you can get out of an image resonate so much stronger to me than anything you can get with “technically correct” image. “technically perfect is perfectly boring” as they say. and they are right.

Hi friends, I am trying to rethink and be more intentional in how I use social media. my end goal is to be less reliant on Instagram / Meta. part of that process will be to use Blue Sky more as well as eventually implement a newsletter through my portfolio website.
