I have done a lot of crying the past two days, and all of them tears about good things. The night I left Kalos, I was thrown a going away party. When I came home to Unova, I was thrown a welcome back party.

Today Ariel and I went to find a teleporter for me. I found an Abra who wanted to see lots of places, and now we're learning about each other. Something surprising though, is that we found an injured pokemon on the way to her home. It's a Ralts, and Ariel is going to nurse it back to health.

I have to leave in a few days... Ariel's family has been so kind to me... Especially her mother. I kind of don't want to leave, but I also want to work with the Professor again... I... I think I want to catch a pokemon that can teleport! I want to be able to visit easily!

((Having Ruby be from a pre-industrial revolution world is so much fun sometimes. Like, ah, yes, of course ribbons and ruffles would make something more serious: it is ever so much more expensive no doubt! Sure in these cartoons they're for frolicking, but in reality they must be serious!))

Hm... That's an awful lot of seriousness for something with so many ruffles and ribbons... Though, I suppose it would make sense. All that cloth is likely very expensive!

That's so strange! I think if anyone is doing such a thing at an event for someone new to contests, that even beginner contests must be more heightened than I imagined...

Is throwing food a bad thing? I feel like throwing food would be something you'd only do if you think the person should be rewarded, since it's free food then.

A-are we expecting to be attacked on stage?! Is that typical?

Oh, that might work! Even if you're not allowed on stage, you being near by may help, since it's slightly less of a problem if I know there's someone near by who can help if something goes wrong...

Thank you! How do you suppose we go about the issue? I can handle being under the attention of about two dozen people, but after that it gets to be too much, so I should start working on it now, since the events probably have more than that.

I think that it would be best if I do it myself... So I think what I need is help with overcoming the issue. This also means that you do not have to work on the schedule of someone else, when you are already so busy!

How would that work..? Would you be on stage instead? I suppose that with my ability, it would not be hard at all for me to guide my pokemon though... Would that be allowed by the rules?

It looks like Shouki enjoys contests. We watched one the other day, and now we are going to try for the first time at a small event meant for people new to it... I don't know how to feel about the fact that if she wants to do this long term, I'm going to have to learn how to handle stages, uuu...

I think that, because of my friend from Virbank and his mom being so mean, that I forgot how kind the people of this world usually are. Everyone in Ariel's family is so nice to me. I even apologised for being quiet at a meal, and they said it's okay - that no one is hurt, so no need for sorries.

I got to help make dinner! Ariel's mom was very impressed with how good I am with a knife. She did let me do some of the actual cooking though, too, which surprised me! I always worry I'll mess stuff like that up, since it's not basically controlled destruction, like cutting things is...

I got to make pancakes today with Ariel's family! They remind me of the yossel cakes from Laios, but a lot less coarse. Yossel cakes also have rolled oats in them, on top of the flour being less finely ground. I kind of want to try to recreate them to share, but I have no idea how...

I have been quiet because things got a little busy. I'm now in Kalos with Ariel though! I'm having a lot of fun, and it's only just now coming to be the 3rd day.

Talking to Ariel always makes my day better.

The way my friend's mother treats people is bad. She reminds me of Leader Korei. She's not bad in the exact same way, I don't think she would try to kill anyone, or order someone else to kill them, but she treats people like they exist strictly to play roles.

I am grateful to be surrounded by people who treat me kindly, and who take my concerns seriously. I have been told I don't have to speak or be around my friend's mother if I don't want to. That I don't have to be around him, either, if I don't want to. Though I want to give him one more chance.

My friend and me made up. I think. He apologised at least. His mom invited me over for the weekend. She said she'd like to go and shop and have girl talk and stuff. I suppose there's no harm, even if I'm not really sure what a girl would have to talk about that boys can't talk about too.

Today Ariel and me got the exact date for my flight settled! I'm very, very excited! She said one of her brothers will help bring us to places around Kalos, since she's not a trainer, and I'm not very strong.

My friend from Virbank was being weird today. He said only boys should climb trees. I told him that I can climb trees better than him, and he replied that I shouldn't. I said it makes no difference. If I can climb better than a boy, then saying I shouldn't because I'm a girl isn't correct.

My friend's still being suspiciously nice... So maybe I'm wrong about it being suspicious? Perhaps I'm being a little harsh on him and this isn't just a ploy...

I saw a white and blue horse today! I swam pretty far from the ranch, and I found this clearing, and the horse was there! It saw me, and I could tell it was startled, but we exchanged glances before it ran off. I was to surprised to try and commune with it...

Leaving and refusing to talk to him until he apologises has resulted in my friend from Virbank calling me "stupid" a whole lot less. It seems event the most reticent to learning can be trained like an attention-seeking dog that refuses to listen to "no" if you're consistent enough.
