The utterly glorious Saint Wulfstan’s crypt, Worcester Cathedral. Building commenced in 1084 and it is thought that Saxon material from an earlier building was reused here.

The tomb of John, King of England (b. 1166, d. 1216), Worcester Cathedral. The oldest royal effigy in England, with niches where semiprecious gemstones were once housed. Curiously, a lion sits at his feet, biting his unsheathed sword.

High on top of the Conwy Valley, the remote 12th century Llangelynnin Old Church, dedicated to Saint Celynnin. Also dedicated Saint Celynnin is a 6th century well in the churchyard, thought to have healing powers, especially for children.

Not an AI giltch here, there is an extra finger! This carving is part of the wonderful oak 'moveable' screen (1530-1540) at Rufford Old Hall, Lancs. Was the finger piously added as only God can create perfection, or as a nod to Anne Boleyn (although her extra finger is thought to be a myth).

Marvelous carved bosses at St Edith's Church in Eaton-Under-Heywood, Shropshire. Some nice foliates along the nave, and flanking the chancel the sun (on the south side) and moon (on the north).

Stunning day of #vegan scran as I start a little mini break in Shrewsbury. Started off with a visit to Okra for a tofu bap with polenta fries. Then a picky tea with vegan cheese, pate, fresh bread, fruit and the most stunning cookie from Ottolive Bakehouse. Washed down with a Riesling Schole.

I just learned it is #ShropshireDay today. Although I have no ties at all to this county, I ADORE it... my very favourite in England 🥰 Here's a lovely Shropshire sheela na gig - this beauty is in Church Stretton, above a Norman doorway of St Laurence's church.

I cannot resist silver jewelry and have been looking for a Medusa piece for a while. To my joy I saw this beautiful pendant in J.T.R Jewellery in Kirkby Lonsdale today and snapped it up - I can't wait to wear her. Such a lovely shop... I was so tempted by other beautiful pieces, but another time 😂
