Baby ichthyosaur alert! Here we describe the Besanosaurus foetus for the first time in detail. The holotype of Besanosaurus was thought to preserve embryonic material earlier, but here we studied it in detail. It is a single foetus. lying in tail-first presentation.

Two versions of Cynthiacetus peruvianus. One bearing more a more whale-like oral setup, one more like terrestrial mammals.

Found this really cool artwork of Dorudon atrox by deviantart user Bistahieversor. Really hits the sweetspot of having enough soft tissue, but not simply copying the anatomy of extant whales.

Our article is published in Cainozoic Research: 'Pachycetines from the Hampshire Basin, England and distribution of pachycetines in Europe, with a note on Pachycetus humilis Van Beneden, 1883'. Very happy!

New book out - Vertebrate fossils of Louisiana - and inside is a nice treat: the first publicly available images of the LSU Basilosaurus cetoides, hidden away for nearly fifty year since it was discovered. Initially described in a Ph.D. thesis, but a publication never followed.

Why do birds bob their heads? Why is their running style different to ours? Just want to see untrained chickens on a treadmill? Watch this video we made! It's in Dutch, but with English subtitles. Watch till the the blooper reel to see me get interrupted by loud chickens

, so here's Pinky and Tyrannosaurus rex. Which is the better pet? Pinky threw up in multiple places this morning, so the competition is closer than you might think! 🦖>🐱?
