There is no greater sign of the broken nature of our political culture and conversation than the fact that more than 8 years after Donald J Trump was credibly diagnosed by dozens of psychiatric professionals, no one dare identify him as a psychopath to explain his aberrant behavior to this day.

So close to getting it. The unspoken mission of the corporate press is to protect the Republican Party from the consequences of its own bad faith and failure (since 1980), the unreal coverage of the party's Trump-era implosion finally made it too glaring to miss.

Jeffries looks like a clown confused about hand gestures but, in terms of political rhetoric, all Dem leaders fall short. Because Authoritarian Personality is a psychopathology. As hard as it may be for some of us to accept, tens of millions of Americans experience a different reality from the rest of us, one without facts, decency, or consequences.

In the most authoritarian culture anywhere, not bloody likely.

The gap between what lucid people can see with their own eyes and what the corporate press reports about Trump is astonishing.

Relativity. Rage bait for them: "Immigrants are eating the cats and dogs." Rage bait for us: "Traitors have taken over the government, built a fascist police state, raped the treasury to further enrich oligarchs, and turned America into a world disgrace."

"R" stands for Russia and Republican, collusion to collaboration.

Talk about asymmetry. Republicans do pandemicide, wreck the economy, have treason, and their voters rush to reelect them. Democrat found near stale bread one day: "I will curse you and your offspring with my last breath."

Everything people know about politics, what Democrats are doing, what Republicans are doing, their motives and effects, they learn from what the corporate press chooses to tell them. Why isn't "x" doing "y" questions assume we have the slightest idea who's doing what, how, and why, when we don't.

Appreciate the perseverance of those who still try to apply some sort of moral or legal framework to Republican conduct when that ship sailed an entire presidency ago.

Reminder that less than a third of Americans foisted this treasonous, sociopathic cabal on the rest of us, while a similar number were appalled at the idea. We have yet to see the awakening of passive-aggressive, "I don't do politics," types who unfortunately make up the bulk of the electorate.

There is a segment of the left, the one that slanders Democrats until they lose, then complains bitterly that Democrats have failed them again. It's from a type of self-defeating craziness like rightwing authoritarianism in that it's about rigid adherence to cultural sensibilities, just better ones.

Only Donald Trump could make Ronald Reagan sound like Abraham Lincoln.

Keeping your perfecting good phone is not "hoarding" by any definition. Someday we'll have to recognize how badly the corporate press has tortured the meaning of words to make a point or avoid unpleasant truths.
