Good morning. During our walk along the Laguna Creek Trail in Elk Grove, CA, saw goslings and goats/sheep. What a beautiful way to start your day. Our city uses goats/sheep as a way to manage weeds. Nice organic method.

Beautiful thing I found this morning. A swarm of honeybees in our front yard on a cable box. Just when my painter was going to arrive to power wash our house. Oh well, beekeeper on the way to capture and relocate. Can’t wait to see he will wrangle these beauties.

I love to mosaic! There I said it. I teach rock mosaic classes for free and just love spreading my madness to others. I mosaic anything like; bowling balls, planters, stepping stones, etc., but rocks are my favorite. Art, humor, and family is the only thing keeping me sane right now.

I know talking about our deceased pets can offend some, but this amazing family member, Napali, passed away one year ago today. She was my husbands guide dog, but more importantly our family member. We have missed her terribly, especially her companionship and humor. See you later girlie.

Happy Earth Day

I normally don’t post my art (mosaics, stained glass and watercolor). But this piece was made for my husband who is visually impaired. This is a mosaic tactile piece called “Looking Up”. He loves touching redwoods so now he can go get a feel of glass bark, when we are not actually in a forest.

Happy Easter peeps! Sometimes you need a break from the madness and take a stroll in the garden. Saw a beautiful male Anna’s Hummingbird and a Pipevine Swallowtail caterpillar going to town on my Dutchman’s Pipevine. No matter what, nature has my back.

Coastal redwoods in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. My 16 year old granddaughter took this while we were at Roaring Camp Railroad. This is a redwood cathedral. I can still smell the trees. Wish I was there now…

I was in my backyard checking on my Dutchman’s Pipevine flowers, and the chrysalis on the vine. My supervisor showed up to make sure I wasn’t too close to the feeder. Oh brother!

So any bets today on how the meeting between the 🍊💩 and Machado goes today? Will she graciously hand over her Nobel Peace Prize for the assholes blessing to gain favor to be instituted as the President of Venezuela? Handing over the medal is like handing over chocolate coins. It’s meaningless.

With the daily shitshow going on, sometimes nature gives you a present. I found this beautiful gem of a Pipevine Swallowtail chrysalis on my Dutchman’s pipevine. The caterpillar is black with orange spikes, and the butterfly is spectacular shimmering black/blue with orange and white spots. 🦋

My favorite Christmas ornament. A gentle holiday reminder that sparks conversation.

Thanks New Yorker Magazine for your upcoming cover photo of, Trans Forming Liberty. The artist, Amy Sherald, is an amazing visionary who painted Michelle Obama’s portrait. This painting was supposed to be displayed in the National Portrait Gallery, but “leadership” objected to it. Art is Art.

Saw The Naked Gun movie today with the grandkids. It’s was pretty funny and Liam Neeson did a great job of replicating the old schtick from previous Naked Gun movies. Just nice to get away from the shit world and laugh for a couple of hours. We give it 3 sets of crocs up!

Superman was awesome! Took my 13 and 16 year old grandkids to the movie. We saw in XD and it was amazing. They knew right away about the underlying theme of the movie. It was serious, funny, lots of action and I am a Punkrocker!

There are talks of a proposed bill by that bitch MTG, that would push up the census immediately to count only US citizens. The proposed bill would then direct states to begin redistricting all US House seats. This is unconstitutional, but this kind of insanity is coming at us at an alarming rate.

Just came home from a week on the coast in Elk, CA. Desperately needed this respite for the heart and soul. In CA we are are having strong winds, low humidity and extreme fire danger for a few days. Captured this video last night of the strong surf and winds pushing through.

Happy Fathers Day to my sweetheart. He took on the role of raising my daughters who are both very independent, loving, hard working citizens. I took him to the CA coast for a week to unwind. It’s been a tough couple of months. Night one dirty martinis, whiskey and the sound of the ocean.

I have been stressed out with what has been going with our country. I have been harnessing my anguish into more stained glass. Made three panels over the past 30 days, 6”x30”, 4”x24”, and 3”x20”. I am starting to look like that old art lady with all my creations. Oh, and fuck Trump!

I hope we all take some time today, and everyday, to be thankful to those who served in the military, are serving, and those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our countries freedom. Thank you, Dad, David, Fred, Ryan and Floyd. You are my heroes.

With all the world shit going on, our sweet girl passed away yesterday, at home with my husband and I holding her. Napali was 13, a retired guide dog, and just the most loving and compassionate friend. Our hearts are broken.

Just took my 11 year, and 15 year old grandkids home after a 9 day break. Totally exhausted, but we had a blast. Sat down to watch Conclave with my husband tonight. What a great movie and WTF! I am late to watching it, but what a really fascinating movie with lots of intrigue. Highly recommend.

I love hummingbirds. Just had to say it out loud, and proud! Just watched the doc “Every Little Thing” on Apple. This doc is based on the book, “Fastest Things on Wings” about a hummingbird rescue in Los Angeles. If you need a little escape check it out.
