Until around 1990 or so, I don't recall there being these strong ideas of "TMI" or oversharing, psychic vampirism, "emotional labor", etc. I am not saying these are not useful concepts, but something shifted when you couldn't be vulnerable, and this was so convenient to capitalism.

I have been posting a bunch of covers, but I haven't really talked about why. When I was a kid, trans women were represented very poorly by the media. The images and ideas I experienced negatively affected me in a lot of ways. There were no positive role models visible to me - only fear and hate.

Movies where the female protagonist would give up everything for a guy and you just can't figure out why, even allowing for heterosexuality. I'll start: Bell, Book, and Candle (1958) I can't see why Kim Novak would drop everything for Jimmy Stewart in this one.

My most streamed Spotify artist is me (hyperestis). This reveals nothing of my preference and everything about what I use Spotify for. But it's still embarrassing.

Finding the rules for a genre is always fascinating to me. The things you miss that makes listeners pop you out of a playlist, and what playlist you might be in instead. It's all subtle but everyone making stuff that is smack in the center of the genre gets it.

I also just got a Takstar s360. It interests me because it has just a bit of attack to it, and is kind of neutral. So it doesn't cut through a mix (how violent) but rather gets a good bite so the consonant is clear without raising the whole thing.
