We are now able to experience Whooping Cranes in ways that were unimaginable only a few decades ago. It's probably been hundreds of years since flocks, numbering in the dozens of individuals, danced together in the warm autumn light.

One of my favorite warblers in both spring and fall is the Common Yellowthroat. I find them perched or foraging at eye level more often than other warblers, which makes photographing them much easier. 🪶

I really enjoy late summer when dragonflies and damselflies become more numerous in my area. Here we have a male Azure Bluet damselfly perched on a leaf. These guys are tiny - just over an inch long - and can look like just a flash of blue as they zip around.

I feel today could use more fuzzy cute things. Here is a gaggle of Muscovy duck ducklings and their nanny. She could be their mother, but there were other females in the immediate vicinity, so I'm not entirely sure. They're all huddled together because of a scary pelican fishing nearby. 😄🪶
