, just wrapped (ha?) October Film Haunt, and what a ride. Super engaging and I actually got weepy on Coleman’s last chapter. Definitely held me hard during the whole run. No, I don’t think I want to belong, if you know what I mean. ❤️

Lately, I’ve noticed I’m reassuring guests at the bookstore after they drop a big purchase with: “It’s ok, there’s worse things to spend money on…like bills…”

I just popped on Twitter an hour ago and I’m in disbelief how my timeline is actually showing, writers, agents, INDUSTRY PEOPLE after a damn year of poking on to irrelevant shit and soft porn. Like, I’m actually willing to go back in a bit. I have no clue what happened, but I hope it stays that way

Literally had a guest at the bookstore argue with me that he remembers when he needed a code for the restrooms at our store I’ve been in this building since 2014, we have never had codes to the restrooms. Hell, there’s no doors to ENTER the whole of the restrooms. He absolutely wouldn’t believe me

When your parents are visiting for the weekend, so you do the mad dash of apartment cleaning, because it’s too hot for two to three months to clean within the space, and you’re already running a river of sweat before you’ve even scrubbed the bathroom 🥲🥲🥲 I’ll get it together someday soon

I definitely am taking baby steps coming back inti writing after the pandemic shattered my routine. It’s not easy. I agree with everyone that creative burnout can happen, but shit also comes to you on its own terms. It’s not worth it to force anything.

When you have a higher up who tells you, “You can come and talk to me about anything,” and all you can think of, after feeling gaslit so many times, is: “You can only smack the dog you pet so many times before it doesn’t come back.”

I’ve tried twice to hang curtains in my apartment, and I keep getting thwarted! 🤦♀️ The first time was me not realizing I’d probably need a drill. When I found Kwik Hangs, I just put them on—they’re too small for the rods I bought. I’m trying. It’s been two and a half years, but I’m still trying.

My grandma fell and had a concussion yesterday (she’s ok, thank God), but my mom said when they did vocal checks like, “What year is it?…repeat these three words back to us…” By the time they asked who the president was, she laughed and said, “You’re joking, right?” Love you, grandma. 😂❤️❤️

I completely forgot about independent bookstore day, cause we had chaos at my library job this morning, but then I was asked to go to my (chain) bookstore job in the evening to cover callouts, so books were involved today—just not independently purchased and with lots of exhaustion in the mix? 🥴😵💫😴

I had a patron at my library job yesterday ask if I could show her how to put a cassette in a tape player. Now—she’s at an age she would’ve been using cassettes 2 decades more than me. And I told her it’s probably been 2 decades since I used one, but I was happy I remembered how to put it in 😭

Was pretty much crying last night, cause I realized I need to get away from Word if I get back into writing, but I’m not sure how to approach where/how I want to do my writing next. And I have to figure out how to extract my files from OneDrive. I’m absolutely frustrated and stressed. 😭

Anyone familiar with Norton Antivirus? We have it on my laptop, but I’m just now being made aware that it’s not a great program, and if others can vouch for that, I need to let my dad know I don’t want it on whatever laptop I get next. Apparently it can work against your computer or something close

I went to upload a Word document for a scholarship last night, and my laptop wouldn’t do it. The document is saved in Word…but if I try to find it outside of Word, it’s not there? I feel like Microsoft completely hijacked all of my documents. I’m blown away with what OneDrive has done to my laptop

I was watching a video of Emma Watson—oddly enough, showing what’s in her Prada bag—last night, but this quote: “You can’t always be in the reaping stage or the harvest stage of life. Life has seasons.” Like, my god, perspective. As they say, respect the process. In whatever you’re doing in life.

One of the things I’ve made myself aware this last week is to watch my screen time on my phone. Cause I think that wasn’t helping my anxiety during the evenings. I honestly felt some relief coming to that conclusion.

My Instagram account—that I really didn’t use, but had to create one to look at other Instagram profiles—was suspended then permanently disabled. They really don’t tell you why, and I fell like that’s an easy lawsuit if anyone ever had the time/money to go after them. The whole thing is BS.

Tried to go on a instagram last night. The one I don’t use. Had to log back in. Wasn’t taking my password so I shrugged and went, “Eh, I’ll create a new account.” I’m apparently suspended for “Violating Community Standards.” On the account I don’t use. I sent an appeal, but Jesus.

I just now saw tonight Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10, that my computer is currently on, in October (with my laptop saying it can’t support Windows 11), and I’m severely confused over what this means for the Word I paid for a decade ago and for my existing laptop, and why are we here???

I really like listening to Martha Stewart podcasts. 🤓 Her guests have taught me your brain cleans itself while you’re sleeping. And that anxiety can also be hormonal. What, shit, I was yesterday years old when I learned ANXIETY CAN SHOW UP WITH YOUR HORMONES?!?! 🤯🤯🤯

I just learned about “Reassurance Seeking” the other night (as I was actively performing it) with OCD, and Holy Shit, what an eye opener. I absolutely do this. We get mental health resources for free at one of my jobs, but I’m full on ready to go straight to a therapist. I have a lot to unpack.

I’ve had to call out from my bookstore job all week, because my apartment parking lot has been a mess, and I still can’t get out. I haven’t had it this bad in the three years that I’ve lived here.

What are you still using to write your manuscripts? Word has not helped my anxiety for some reason, and I’m not sure if I’m ready to look elsewhere for my writing. My friend shows me Scrivener, but I know the formatting takes getting used to. Is everyone still using Word???

I’m slowly getting myself back into writing after trying to piece together what the pandemic shattered for me. This hasn’t been easy. Told my dad, and he let me know that he told mom I was back to writing and that I have both of their support. That’s all I need. ❤️

One thing about 2025 so far is I’ve been blatantly honest with folks that I have OCD. I’ve had it since I was really young and I’ve been careful with hiding my routines/tics/my brain wiring, but it’s interweaving with my anxiety, so I now need to give context to people. I’m not ashamed of it.

I’m at a point I just want someone to tell me it gets better with time. About a month ago, on Christmas, I started getting heart palpitations from the digital anxiety that’s come at me out of nowhere. I’m having good days and bad days, but it’s really rough when the bad days stick around.

The start of the year has been rough, just for me personally. I’ve had anxiety of getting locked/hacked out of Facebook. It shifted to my E-mails when I had a couple phishing scares and then changed passwords. Then it shifted to 2FA Do others ever feel the same anxiety and how do you deal?

I can’t tell you how happy I am to find the “old-Twitter” platform again. Facebook has been giving me anxiety for months that I was going to get hacked/locked out, and I just want a place to breathe and be at peace and reconnect with the writing industry. It’s been two years and I’ve missed it. ❤️
